I had an injection done for a Doppler ultrasound and I did not respond to it. I posted about my fist experience here: viewtopic.php?f=5&t=5381
Well I just had another injection done, this time on the other side and I wasn't able to get a good enough erection to complete the test. I got a weak erection up briefly but quickly lost it as they started doing the test. The strange thing is, I seem to respond better to Viagra / Cialis, than I do injections. Just the night before the test I had an erection in the middle of the night, and ejaculated. The erection I had the night before was better than what I was able to get at the doctors office. Could having the erection / ejaculation the night before have effected the test?
Any input?
I just don't know what to think, I don't doubt that stress / nerves is contributing to my ED, but I don't know how much of it is physical and how much psychological, and without being able to get an erection in the doctor's office, physical causes cannot be ruled out.
The fact that I didn't respond twice to the injections seems to point towards VL, but I have been able to get good erections in the past year with Viagra or sometimes even supplements and no pharmaceuticals.
Just failed my 2nd doppler ultrasound to check for VL

Mid 30's. I have had ED for years after a couple of injuries. Suspected venous leak.

The fact that you were able to achieve an erection and ejaculation the night before indicates strongly that you do not have a VL. Guys suffering with a VL would not be able to generate a spontaneous erection.
You need to consider your ED issue most likely as a psychological problem

hello , thats not true, you could have an erection but not as rigid as a healthy person, and you lose it more easy than a person with no ED.
cheers.

I don't really know what to make of it. I stopped getting nocturnal erections unless I'm taking cialis or a supplement that helps (chlorophytum borivilianum extract). When I do get erections they are rarely as hard and quickly go down (within seconds).
I thought getting an injection and doppler ultrasound would finally tell me whether my problem was physiological or not. But I failed to get and keep an erection both times I was injected.
Maybe you are right, venous leak sounds unlikely, but for over a year now I can't maintain erections unless I'm on something.
After I failed to maintain an erection with the second injection / ultrasound, the doctor told me I should see a psychiatrist. I can't help but think if I wasn't young he would have treated me differently. I just wanted to rule out any physical causes.

What was your uros conclusion? To me, you probably have venous leak, and the psychological aspect makes it even worse.

I have VL and I don't get spontaneous erections. I need a cock ring and Viagra to achieve an erection that is hard enough to penetrate. Even at that if there is no friction on the shaft, I loose it.

My urologists conclusion was he doesn't know if I have venous leak and he suggested I see a psychiatrist. He was going to repeat the ultrasound test but then he decided to cancel the appointment. I have seen 6 urologists and have not come to a single conclusion. I can't help but think if I was older I would be taken more seriously.

Re: Just failed my 2nd doppler ultrasound to check for VL
I cannot get a single urologist to preform the test on me (with enough injection) to tell me if venous leak is the cause of my ed or not. Most just mention my age when I ask them. I had one urologist (that just happens to preform penile implants) tell me he doesn't do tests on things he isn't going to treat, and he's not going to put an implant in someone my age. I never asked him if he would, just asked I could be tested.
Maybe if I wait another 30 years I'll be able to find one that takes my ED seriously.
