Now im getting a little nervous about it :) . But not deterred especially with post op reports like yours! Hope it continues great for you. Did your doc leave you inflated? If so for how long? My doc is Garber in Philadelphia and i hear i'll be partially inflated for 4 weeks.
Best of luck and God bless.

Thanks Mick. No he did not leave mine inflated. I have seen and heard good things about Dr. Garber. He was on my list of possible docs. The big thing is to try to keep the swelling out and follow your docs recommendations for activity or relatively no activity especially for the first few days to minimize bleeding. The more you swell the more you swell as the hydraulic pressure pulls on everything. I am not used to sitting let alone laying around but did hardly anything for 2 weeks. I have no regrets about doing it and frankly found for me it was much less to go through than other surgeries. I will be praying for you to have a speedy recovery!

My surgery with Dr. K is late August - I assume you went in EARLY on Wednesday a.m. and left later that day? Did you actually talk to him the morning of surgery? We have e-mailed about doing some ventral phalloplasty "while he's down there" - just wanna make sure he remembers . . .
Glad to hear you are doing so well. . . I hope I follow in your footsteps!

yes we met for the first time that morning around 9 then went into surgery about an hour or two later. We had arrived around 7 AM for preop checkin I believe. We had an outpatient visit scheduled the day before but riots made that not possible. Out of surgery about hour and a half after our meeting and out of hospital by 3 or 4. Had ventral phalloplasty and remodeling from some scarring from injections I thought I had but local prescribing urologist didnt believe. I hadnt mentioned to Dr Kramer but he recognized during test inflation. I think you made a good choice of surgeons as he did very well by me. Good luck!

Well it was 3 months this week on Wednesday since my implant. Still can't believe how easy it was to change something that has been an issue since my teens to a non problem. Looking back on all the conversations I had with docs over the years I keep asking myself what could I have done differently to have arrived here sooner and frankly I think it was the right amount of time for me to have found the right surgeon and the right amount of time for me to know I tried everything else first. For anyone with ED I would say try all the alternatives first and stop at each one long enough to know they are right for you or not. Don't let docs stop you from the journey or down play the importance of intimacy no matter your age in whatever form it takes with or without an erection. And if your journey takes you to an implant as your endpoint take the time to find a high volume doc who you trust with a big enough ego to not be offended no matter what you ask and then do what they say to do to maximize your success. Hope your results are as spectacular as mine have been.

Four months ago today and I was having butterflies in the University of Maryland waiting room wondering if I was making the right decision since my hometown urologist said I should stick wih injections. He was also the one as one of the groups two ED "specialists" who disputed my experiences with the oral drugs for ED that all gave me side effects that were significant before agreeing to let me try injections as if he was rationing the last bottle of water in the desert. He like several docs over the years kept saying well you are getting older you know as part of their rationale for not treating my ED that I have had off and on since my teens but worse as I got older. I am saying this not to get sympathy but to encourage any of you reading this to continue to push forward to the best sex life you can get for you despite the apathy or push back you may receive from docs. You are getting older or at least be thankful your cancer is cured or whatever irrational statement about why you shouldnt look at all your options are all unacceptable. Dont feel guilty about continuing to ask. I felt guilty/ungrateful/perverted even as a physician who should know better. I felt as if I was a petty American with insurance who didnt realize how lucky I was already....which I was. Heck you dont need an erection to be a good spouse or even be intimate so why did I need a stiff penis. That said I am so glad I pushed. Not all of us on this page will be healthy enough or even be candidates for every treatment especially surgical treatments. Not everyone will have success with all or any of the treaments and some will have side effects and complications. That said we should all expect to have all the appropriate choices offered in a supportive way including psychotherapy and sexual therapy if the doc involved says that is a necessary avenue to explore as part of the journey to be the best you can be. And if you have a regular partner include them. They can become baggage you carry as to when you tell them etc or they can become a partner like my wife was to hold my hand when I needed that. I hope this doesn't sound too melodramatic but for me and a lot of people here this is a long journey. I hope yours can be shorter than mine but arrive at a great place like I have.

Thank you for your updates and explanation of your situation. Showing this and other case studies to my wife had helped ease her apprehension about whether the risks are worth it. She would rather live without intercourse than live without me or put me through torture between my legs and needed reassurance that this is a viable option and has a high probability of success.
Age 68 - AMS LGX 12+2cm. Lost over an inch from pre-ED length but thicker for what it's worth (not much). ED result of heart meds.

My wife said the same things to me. Nice to know they care. Hard to explain sometimes why impotence is so draining to the psyche when we have great life partners. Good luck on your journey, Good to hear my story and others help some.

Bill--You offer some really good comments. I'm sure lots of guys have been reassured/educated. I had a Titan implanted nearly 5 weeks ago by Dr Perito. It's, perhaps, too early to be certain, but I'm a bit regretful at this point. One--that I didn't choose Kramer or others (Perito does not make himself available as does Kramer). And two--that I got the Titan instead of the AMS. The Titan, I'm afraid, will never hang down normally (about 4 o'clock). With a continuing curvature when flaccid, it's a sight that I'd rather not show in a locker room. One of your comments that caught my attn. was about your size, and how you were advised that it would continue to grow in coming months. I'm guessing that's because the AMS is designed to lengthen with time. Am I correct? My biggest disappointment is, indeed, loss of size. Well over an inch, and I was never more than average to begin with. I still haven't inflated fully, but pretty close. My hunch is that with use and stretching, I may get an increase in girth, but not length. The inflation that I've gotten thus far makes it hard as a rock, and I remember Perito telling me he doesn't use AMS because the stiffness isn't equal to Titans. I'm thinking, now, that I should have opted for possible length rather than rigidity. 41/2 in. is not a lot to play with. I might have to think about one of the Drs who do the lengthening, altho not sure if I can afford it. But that's down the road, and maybe in a couple of mo I'll have a different perspective. If you have any thoughts, I'd appreciate hearing them.

You will get bigger (length and girth) Don't worry. When you're aroused is when you truly see it.

Not to worry once you have used it for a few months it will hang better and likely increase in size as mine has. I have the AMS CX which does not lengthen like the LGX. I did not want more length though did want to keep as much as possible. Because of a curvature from injections the LGX wasnt the first choice as AMS CX and Titan have more rigidity I believe. I should also mention mine did not hang as normally as it does now 4 months out and I had a new curve to left early on that has largely resolved now. 5 weeks is way too soon to make any judgements about what you will look like eventually at least I am not the same as I was at 5 weeks. Not too soon to be stressed so understand anxiety but too soon to know where you will land. Titan is a good product from many many others on the site. Hope you feel better about the process soon.
