Its pretty sure that Hormones have just an minor effect on the erection, they more effect the libido.
Hormone issues are the least diagnosed (If at all) reason of Venous Leak ( about 5 %).

Is this comment supported by facts ? Or purely your speculation ?

Hi guys,
I went to Vienna to meet Doctor Ralf Herwig four weeks ago. I found him straightforward and professional in every way. According to the Ultra sound I had a veins leak which was confirmed in the operation on the next day. Nothing special to add on the operation but one key point: try to practice the retention of the respiration and compression of your muscles as you were going to the bathroom for at least 1mi and 30s. Is very important to do this exercise correctly when requested by the doctor during the operation.
After the operation: the Doctor was very clear with two basic and important rules: I was not allowed to have any sex or do any sport in the first two weeks. The only sex that you can do is with your brain. He told me to start taking Cialis (5mg) on the second day regularly (one yes, one no, one yes…).
From day 1 till 15: I was really impressed by the hardness of the erections. The only problem is that it hurt a lot. Good spontaneous erections during the night. The penis reacts to any order from my brain (conscious or unconscious) violently.
From day 15 till 20: The swelling was completely over on day 20. No more violent reactions from my penis. Good spontaneous erections during the night. From now on I could have sex and do sports. Only weight lifting is forbidden. With masturbation or intercourse I have good erections but still a little painful.
From day 20 till 30: Good spontaneous erections during the night but not every night. With masturbation or intercourse I have good erections but still a little painful, less than the previous five days.
Another important point to keep in mind is that my erections are affected as they were in the past if I don’t sleep, I´m under stress or what ever physical or mental situation is affecting me.
Some days I have spontaneous erections at night, some days I don’t. If I masturbate or I have intercourse the erection is much better than it was. By the time being the improvement is very good. Wishing to stop taking Cialis and see what happens.
To finalize, during this last 30 days I have had up´s and downs but the support from Doctor Ralf Herwig was very important, he was always available by telephone or email giving me a little push to trust the whole process.

2. Did he ask you to take Cialis every second day rather than every day ?
3. Any reason you are in a hurry to get off the Cialis as it can be beneficial to penis health in general ?

I have done the scloretherapy as well with Dr Herwig and Dr Kuehas in Vienna. I have read the comments from you other guys who have done this treatment. Here is my story.
Have had ED problems for all my life. Not as bad when 20 yo as later in life (42 yo now). Problem is typical for VL. Can most of the time get a decent erection, but struggle to stay hard long enough. Same problems when masturbating, and poor or none morning wood.
I started to take Viagra around 10 years ago, and it has definitely hepled. Lately I have been getting less effect, and I still struggle to stay hard long enough. And even 'hard' is not what a normal erection is. It is rather some sort of 75% erection.
Anyway, I found information about the sclerotherapy on internet, contacted Dr Kuehas and had a skype consultation. He said everything ponted at venous leak, and that the sclerotherapy could be an option.
i went to Vienna and he did the ultrasound and confirmed a better than average inflow, but a huge leakage. We decided to go ahead and do the treatment next day.
I did it int he morning and flew out of Austria to my home country in Europe on the evening of the same day as the operation. Pain was ok. As long as I moved slowly and carefully it was no problem.
Kuehas put me on 5mg/d of Cialis, and already the first night I noticed a difference in the nightly and morning erections. They were however a bit uncomfortable since they stretched the wound. Furthermore, my scrotum and penis looked like it had been ran over by a truck. Swollen, blue and bloody. But pain was ok. I needed no pain killers, Just had to take it easy with activities. Anyway, the improvement of the morning and nightly erections was amazing. Even spontaneous erections during the day. I was cured! Six days after the surgery I couldn't wait any longer. I watched some porn and got the fullest, hardest erection I've ever had in my life. Normally when watching porn, it's not enough to give me a hardon. I need to start massturbating to get it up. And if I let it go for 10 seconds, the erection will be gone. Not now. It stood firm even if not touching it for a moment. I masturbated 'carefully' because of the tenderness and the wound, but came easily with no pain. Yes, I was cured.
Later that day, I took my long, long flight back to the Asian country where I live.
By the way Razor - I am pretty sure live in the same city and have the same uro. I also believe we had the sclerotherapy on the same day in Vienna! Unbelievable coincidence, isn't it?
Anyway, back in Asia, the effect was still there. I still hadn't had sex with my wife, since Kuehas recommended two weeks of no intercourse.
I also went to my uro to get my planned Nebido T-injection. I have been on T-therapy for about 2 years.
1.5 weeks after the sclerotherapy, I had to leave for a business trip, another flight. Still no sex, but my dick was working great. Very strong morning, night and spontaneous erections. I masturbated a couple of more times, and it was great. My dick felt twice as big and hard as ever before.
But. When I arrived at the destination of my business trip, It was like flicking a switch. I felt a huge difference. My dick, which after the sclerotherapy had been bigger and fuller in the flaccid state as well, was now back to its old self. I masturbated that night in the hotel, and it was crap. Back to exactly where it was before the treatment.
I was devastated. It kept going like this for several days, and the next masturbation had the same crappy result. This was 2 weeks after the sclerotherapy.
i though why? Because I had masturbated too early after the treatment? Because I had started to lift weights after a week?
I got back to my home fromt he business trip 16 days after the sclerotherapy, went straight to my uro. I sometimes had a dip in libido just before and after the time of the next T-shot, but this was ridiculous. Uro and me decided to try Androgel, since I anyway had the dip-issues with the Nebido. Uro though it was impossible for the sclero effect to just diappear more or less over night, and suspected hormonal issues.
Anyway, applied the Androgel, and later that night it was time for sex with the wife. Still 16 days after the sclero. I felt like it would be same story as before. Took 100 mg Viagra to improve chances. And it worked. Fantastic erection, and wife confirmed this was a huge difference from how my dick had ever felt before.
Sex again on day 18, with 100 mg Viagra. And still on the daily 5 mg Cialis. Same story. Great erection. Enormous difference in hardness from before. Especially the glans. And it lasted till the end.
Off again for business trip on day 19.
Dick was back at its best again. Masturbated every day during the trip, great erections. Nothing like before.
Bak home again, and has one failed sex session. With Viagra. But dick still went soft after a while. Different soft though. Before sclore, soft meant soft and small. This time it meant soft (or semi-soft) but still full. Still not good enough to complete sex.
The coming 7 weeks, I had sex 16 times. 3-4 of them poor outcome, the rest fantastic.
The 2 weeks of same crap as before sclero. I was sure the effect was gone. Found this forum and read a couple of posts from guys who's effects disappeared as well. Last week, sex four times and all four times same erection performance as before sclero. It's now been 100 days since the treatment.

So what does this mean? Is the effect gone? Is it an issue with hormones? Tests taken 12 weeks post-op at the uro showed very high Estradiol. Have now been taken 0.25 mg Arimidex every second day for a week to reduce Estradiol.
Again been on business trip and not really tested the dick with sex after the Arimidex therapy will do tonight...

Anyway, I am skeptical. I think the sclore effect definitely has disappeared or at least sharply been reduced.
I am considering an implant. Especially now when I know what I am missing. What I thought was an erection isn't really an erection. The first weeks after the sclero was just amazin.

Good luch to all of you who have done the therapy. For those of you with effect still there, I sincerely hope it stays permanent.
For those of you out there considering the therpay: Be aware, results might not last. But for me, even if effect is gone, it was worth it. I had the best 4 weeks of my life there...

You may have read my posts and seen that I have been through the mill with this also.
My story is very much like yours and at 41 and both married we are very much in the same position currently.

To re-cap had Sclero on the 16th September this year. The opp appeared to go well and in terms of pain I had relatively none. I travelled back to UK and after about 5 days healing and feeling fuller I had the biggest erection lying in bed with my wife, in fact in lasted 30 mins without any stimulation, the following evening the same thing happened, however after standing up I noticed my erection faded very quickly albeit it didn’t overly concern me. However by the Wednesday exactly 7 days post opp I again had a big erection and went to check it out in the mirror as like you I was impressed with the new me. This is when I felt the bulge at the base of my penis with slight pain and then it went down extremely quickly. The trauma hit me quick and convinced myself I was now totally impotent. 2 horrible weeks went by where I hit depression and my frame of mind really impacted on my relationship. I had time of work and ended on anti-depressants.

My wife was away on a course the second weekend during this time and I decided to test the effect of some 100mg Viagra I had. Things fluffed up a bit but I wasn’t fully aroused so didn’t expect the world. Lying in bed in the evening my wife got a bit amorous and to my surprise I got a good erection and we had what I would say was good sex.

Since then we have had sex on 3 other occasions and it’s worked but I feel my erections on PD5’s have declined a little but I have been able to complete intercourse sort of ok. I have had no morning wood during this period although my sleep has been seriously affected by the anti-depressants as has my libido.

Like you I still remain sceptical about the long term effect and I too am considering the implant route but I suppose I will see what happens over the coming weeks and months first.

I would interested to what the clinic have said to you? (If at all you have contacted them?)

Haven't talked to the clinic yet. Will talk to Kuehas over the phone soon. But I don't really see the point. It is what it is and he can't change it now. There were never any guarantees, even though his stipulated 60% complete succes rate is definitely not supported by us 4-5 guys here on the forum wha have done it. That might piss me off a bit, but I am still quite blase about it. Had he told me there was a 25% success rate I'd had done it anyway. It was a chance worth taking and I have no regrets nor any anger towards the clinic.
Sex yesterday was still ok. 5 mg daily Cialis topped up with 100 mg Viagra before game time.
I am about to conclude that the super effect initially achieved after the sclero isn't there anymore. The effect now isn't really on the hardness. It is more ir less what it was before. The difference is rather in the size and the fullness. The dick is simply bigger and fuller, but barely harder. Also, when the erection faded iff before, dick got 100% soft and intercourse had to be interrupted. Now, when erection fades it 'only' goes to some sort of 25-50% erection in terms of rigidity but basically stays at maximum size and fullness.
I am still seriously considering the implant.

Update:
My dick surprised me yesterday... It did its job good and well with the standard daily 5 mg Cialis and 100 mg Viagra pre-sex top-up. I'd say it was equal to or close to where itwas right after sclero.
Don't really know why. One thing worth taking into account though is that I have been on T-therapy for 2 years. Tests done a few weeks after the sclero effect disappeared showed a very high Estradiol level. I haven't had that previously and are not familiar with the effects. Got Arimidex to take E down. Been on hat for 10 days now. Can it be that the sudden drop of erectile ability a few weeks after sclero was due to high E and that Arimidex is now solving that. And that the VL actually was and still is curee by the sclero?
I don't think so, but can't rule it out. Must wait and see.
Furthermore, I hav decided that I won't have anymore of this ED crap anymore and will go for an implant. It means I don't give a shit anymore if it fails during sex. In a way that's just what I want since it helps justifyng the decision. And probably that 'I don't give a shit-attitude' helps a bit as well.

Anyway, my dick has till year end to prove it is fixed. If not he'll get implanted.
