Regarding my 'possible hormone problem' as diagnosed in a post above:
My Testosterone was around 300.
Been on TRT for 2 years, and it has been in a healthy level, just above average for men my age, since then.
Got an elevation of Estradiol when I changed from Nebido to Andgrogel a few months ago.
Got that sorted out within a few weeks with Arimidex.
No hormone problem now.
My statements on the outcome of sclero is based on how it works when the hormone levels are ok.
No reduced effect yet (140 days post-op). Just noting that even though I got a huge improvement, I was not cured.
What happened is that my erection went from an 80% shaft-erection and a 50% glans-erection to a 100% of both.
However, it still doesn't consistently last long enough without constant stimulation.
And I still need pills.

It's good you have that fixed now so you have a reliable result from the sclero. If you have a 100% erection on pills, even if it doesn't last long, are you happy that you did it? Even if my dick was 100% for only 5-10 minutes I would be over the moon. My injury was sexual Ech, it got bent back and I had a bruise, had VL since then.

Re: Dr. Ralf Herwig claims that he cures Venous Leak
I am, as I have said many times, happy that I did the sclero.
For a few reasons:
1 - It was worth a try. if it had been the cure, then it would have been the perfect cure. All natural erections and function and not too expensive.
2 - If I hadn't done it, then gone for the implant, and then found out about the sclero, i might have been sitting my whole life wondering if the sclero could have cured me...
3 - If the sclero can help me get a fuller, harder glans after the implant compared to what I would have with an implant and no sclero - then great. It was worth it for sure.
4 - It made me deal with my problems. See below.
Regarding over the moon about it...
I was reasoning just like you AVL_UK before the sclero. I told myself that if the result will be that I can have 'ok' sex with pills after the sclero, I'll be happy with that. However, things changed. The sclero made me raise the bar for I can accept. One reason was that I finally understood what it is that I am missing. It also led to the final showdown no-bullshit discussion with my wife about the extent of my problems and her true feelings about it. Turns out that before the sclero I didn't really know what a 100% erection even was...
What all this led to was simply that I want to fix this shit. An improvement was no longer good enough for me. Rather implanted and 100% functional than natural and 75% (or whatever - how do you really quantify that??) functional.

Re: Dr. Ralf Herwig claims that he cures Venous Leak
Also wanted to share a few more things with you guys who are considering the sclero:
The succes rate of sclero.
On this forum, I think a number of 60% success (as in cured) is being circulated. I don't know where that comes from, and yet I have still been referring to it myself.
I clearly remeber that Dr. Kuehhas told me before the sclero the following:
30% will be cured. Cured as in no longer any need for pills, injections, pumps, etc to get and maintain a good erection.
50% will be improved. Improved as in either going from no effects of pills to having a good effect from pills, or getting an improved effect of pills.
20% will se no improvement.
When he did the pre-op ultrasound on me he said I had a 'huge' VL. He said it is in the 'right' place, as in the place where sclero normally has the best effect.
During the treatment he said again that the leak was 'huge' but that they found it and they most likely fixed it.
After the treatiment he said all went very well, he showed me the pictures afterwards where the leak was shown to be 'fixed'.
He told me that nothing can be guaranteed, but he was confident that I was one of the 30%...
Those of you who have been reading my posts know what my results were. An improved effect froom pills, but still 100% dependency of pills. In other words, I was one of the 50%.
Finally, I'd like to add what happened today. I had my pre-op examination with Dr.Eid before implant surgery.
He did an ultrasound as well. His words during the ultrasound were: 'Wow. That's a huge venous leak. Huge. Very Huge.'
According to him, the limit is 20%. As in if the outflow (=leak) is >20% of the inflow, it is very, very hard to maintain an erection.
I had 45% on one side and 25% on one side.
So much for the sclero fixing VL...
What Eid also asked was if I had had my glans injected to make it fuller (with collagen I guess). I said no, but he said it definitely looked like that. He does those injections as well, so he should know what he is talking about.
I don't want to think that is the case, but if I wanted to be suspicious, I could question whether Kuehhas injected my glans with collagen without saying so during the sclero treatment, and that's the main reason why I see an improvement in my glans fullness and hardness. And not because of any fixing of VL..?
Again, I don't think that is the case, but i also find it strange that a world-class urologist says it definitely looks like I had one of those injections.

Re: Dr. Ralf Herwig claims that he cures Venous Leak
that could explain some things if Dr. E is correct. I had Radiese injections in my vocal cords after losing the nerve to them so I could swallow and speak. Was supposed to last 18 months like the glans plumping procedure but my body would start absorbing the gel in a couple weeks . Very noticeable in a month. Your body absorbs this stuff and it is not unusual to have to have more injected in 6 months to a year in a normal person. Best wishes for you tomorrow!!d

Re: Dr. Ralf Herwig claims that he cures Venous Leak
My implant is done. Since 42 hours I have a Titan XL in my dick. I have a thread called 'My journal' in the implant forum.
Some interesting consequences of the sclero:
A lot of bleeding during surgery. My surgeon (Dr. Eid) said it was partly because a lot of veins were sealed so blood could not drain as normal. Excessive bleeding is bad since it produces more swelling which increases post op pain and recovery time.
Eid said especially the veins from the glans were sealed. He said that my glans would probably be very full and hard after all is healed. The beyond normal full shaft erection from the implant will trap blood in glans and if veins are sealed it will probably result in a very swollen glans. Maybe too full. Whatever 'too full' is. Advantage though being increased bumper effect to prevent pain from tips of cylinders.
Eid is by the way skeptical to the whole sclero thing. On the other hand he is not familiar with the procedure. As a well renowned ED specialist, he had never heard of the method. Based on what I could tell him, he did not think it can provide a sustainable cure of VL. Nothing, known today, can. Well except an implant of course, which technically doesn't cure the VL either, but it cures the ED.

Re: Dr. Ralf Herwig claims that he cures Venous Leak
I would expect they not only destroy veins in this procedure but to up the ante, they run , I forget what it is called in medical terms, a guide wire and? like they do in the cath lab through the arteries that supply blood. I know in artery blockage surgeries they can damage or destroy the valves in the arteries if not careful and sometimes it happens anyway. yes they have many valves like check valves. when they do that you get more blood flow and it can pool or become too much if they are damaged. I would bet you have damaged arterial valves as part of the procedure that contributed to the excess bleeding. It would not surprise me if they even balloon stretched the arteries in your sclero procedure to increase the flow capacity. d

Re: Dr. Ralf Herwig claims that he cures Venous Leak
Maybe you're on to something.
What I have thought was being strange all the time was that Kuehhas from the beginning spoke about fixing the VL. Meaning stopping or reducing leakage. Increasing durability of erection.
What Has happened in reality is not so much improvement in durability as in erection hardness. The whole penis, shaft and glans, gets substantially harder. According to wife, ithas changed from the softest she has experienced to the hardest.
But the problem is still the durability.
It still starts to go soft within seconds when stopping the stimulation during masturbation.
And sex must still be performed with consideration taken to maximize time, position, pace etc in terms of chances to being able to finish with a hard dick.
Well, all this is history now anyway. Durability should be no issue anymore...

Re: Dr. Ralf Herwig claims that he cures Venous Leak
Can't beat quality. Also can say for a fact some docs do things they shouldn't. For example this week alone ( many scans and doctors visits where I sawsome top tier surgeon professors) that when they do the daVinci prostatectomy, they destroy a lot of things and do not repair it leaving a mess that causes issues later including reservoir placement. Doc said when the prostatectomy is done in open surgery they repair as they go. Add to that my surgical record shows the prostatectomy was 1 hour and 25 minutes from in the operating door to out of the door, ( actual surgery time was shorter) he said he's NEVER heard of that fast so whatever was wrecked surely stayed a wreck. When they did hernia repair 2 and 3 twelve years before that the doc stripped all the sheathing off the tubes going to the testicles so ever since I've felt 4 tubes on each side ( vein, artery, vas deferens and nerve). I was told that should have never been done either. sometimes you never know, sometimes you learn later, sometimes you have a fine, skilled, knowlegable doc who wants to do a good job, but now you have a fix that does not depend on blood flow in or out. Can't beat quality! d

Re: Dr. Ralf Herwig claims that he cures Venous Leak
I have, as you know, done the sclerotherapy in July this year. I must say thisto all of you considering sclero:
In this thread, and in numerous PMs to guys who have asked me, I have said that I don't believe this will be a cure. In best case an improvement. I've also said that if money is no issue, if expectations and disappointment can be managed, then why not try. Nothing to lose.
However, after having done implant surgery with one of the top implant surgeons in the world, and listening to his thoughts on sclero, and the cold hard internal consequences he has seen in my penis during his surgery and post op care of me - My advice to anyone out there must be to not go ahead with this.
I still say, and so does my surgeon, that VL cannot be long term cured with sclero.
What I have changed my mind on is the nothing to lose part. My implant surgeon, again he's a world class implant surgeon with decades of experience in all possible ED treatments, is of the definite opinion that there are substantial risks with sclero. One of them being that the tissue in the glans over time can die. Yes, die.
For more details, read all my posts in the implant thread 'My journal'.
Take care, and think hard before going for it.
