Congrats.I think you will be impressed not only with Dr Kramer but for how smart you were to make the decision to get an implant and get it it with one of the top surgeons.

That would be me. Will be three weeks post-op this coming Tuesday and things are still tender. I had a LOT of swelling after surgery and enough pain to take several Percocets in the first few days as well, something that is unusual for me as I have a high pain tolerance. I sat reclined in my La-Z-Boy for the first four days with ice 24hrs. Looking forward to being pain free again and able to try out the implant. My activation appt. is 2 weeks from next Tuesday and I'm looking forward to it yet somewhat scared to inflate it for the first time as I have no idea what to expect pain-wise and just what it will feel like. Does it feel like a natural erection?

Your story is amazing to me, that you recovered so quickly - whether surgeon skill or just the way your body works or both, who knows, but you sure did have an easy time of it - more power to ya! My surgery was done by a local urologist who specializes in ED. I spoke to the AMS rep at a seminar before deciding to have it done and he said that my doc is in the top 1% of number of implants in my state (MI) and highly recommended him. The only complication I have had so far is the scrotal incision. An area about 3/4 inch long did not heal together fully before the stitches dissolved and it came apart somewhat (not like there is a hole in my scrotum but the edges are still working on healing together). It's looking much better than it did 3-4 days ago when I went to the doc and had it checked. The abdominal incision looks great although still tender to the touch.

I was lucky. I think Dr Kramer is great at what he does and I was in great health aside from ED. Good to hear you checked on your doc first you want one with that rep. Sometimes incision has outside skin folded over into round which can delay appearance of healing. As long as your doc is ok with it should be ok though I would be careful with baths or hot tubs til wound ok. As to erection it feels like a full erection fullness unless extra pumping for size increase and stretch then can be sore. But all controllable. Tender with sex for awhile so be gentle at first. I am still careful with position changes though no real discomfort now. Sounds like you are on your way Norm. Congrats

Midwestman: I had a similar situation with the sutures. At exactly 2 weeks I had them removed, and also starting cycling ( same day). I believe the force of manipulating the pump slightly opened up the incision. My Dr's advice was to keep the area clean, try steri strips and wait a week or so for things to close up. He felt it eventually would heal on it's own, however it seem to not be closing up, so he approved me to have a suture done by my local doc. He actually provided detailed instructions on the type of suture and how to do it. He also put me on more antibiotics and everything worked out great. I sent him daily pics just so he could see the incision healing ( I was out of state and he was in NY). I waited about three more weeks to start cycling . Everything turned out beautifully. I am 10 month post op Titan 22(L) 23(R). All other healing went very well. Couldn't be happier !!!

Thanks - this is exactly what it looks like, the rounded over skin. Every day it looks a little better and more closed up - slow but steady progress. I use my hot tub every day for muscle soreness (a different medical issue that I have - polymiocitis), so not being able to use it is a real bummer but I've stayed out - just keep feeding it chemicals! Sure looking forward to trying it out for the first time - seeing what it looks like, etc. I was in to see the PA last week and was asking her about the schedule for first pumping, etc. (two weeks from tomorrow which will be five weeks from surgery). She kindof looked at me with a twinkle in her eye and said "you will REALLY like the result - you'll be pleased". I believe she was in surgery with the doc so knows what the inflated size/shape looks like :) Looking forward to it but I also imagine that there is some fear using it for the first time (i.e. intercourse). Will it hurt? Will I break something? etc. The wife said she can't wait to have it in there again - it's been a long time...

Sounds like you are doing the right things. Being cautious and waiting re hot tub is a good decision. The providers know the result immediately post implant with test inflation so that is great she said that. As long as their are no running jumps or trapezes involved you won't hurt anything! :-) That said my wife and I took it slow with me on top for the first few times to be sure I ran the show re speed and pressure. It was a little sore at times but not in a stop the action way. And some of it was my nervousness. If your first time with the ew penis is like mine you will ask the inevitable question.....why did I wait so long. Easy to say when things go well. Hang in there you will love it.

Well I celebrated 9 months with my implant last week and aside from a head cold that I can't blame on my implant would say things are great. I want to clarify that they are not perfect but great. Not perfect because I have to spend a couple of minutes inflating my penis when we are at the point in lovemaking where I want penetrative sex. Not perfect because I have an implant with a finite lifespan likely shorter than mine so will need to be replaced at some point. And not perfect because I need to discuss my penis when I go in for MRI's or procedures as part of my history. Oh and because my wife reminds me I am not perfect! I think that's about it. The rest is exactly what I had the implant for which is to have a dependable erection. I continue to read the heart felt messages here that include successes as well as failures (for now). My sense is that it is harder for those that are younger perhaps because the implant is so much different than natural erections they actually remember. My erection now for me and for my wife is better than the erections we remember for years. I hear tones of disbelief or hints by some that those of us who are very happy have found religion with the implant. I wouldn't call it religion, hallelujahs aside, and would caution that if you are looking for a savior for all the stuff that is related cause and effect, or often separate from your ED, you shouldn't get an implant. You will be angry and sad and more, that you went through this when all the stuff is still there as you stand there with a hard penis. If you are looking for a dependable erection and are willing to identify and work on the stuff that existed before the implant then odds are you will be as happy as I am. Implants just fix erections, that's the easy part. PS I do thank God every day for the blessings in my life including, yes, the implant. And for all of you working to find your right answer and sharing your thoughts.

Well just a little over 10 months and starting to feel a little mediocre based on comments on other threads. Others on the site lately have suggested it is thoughtless if posts describe success or suggest that the best thing is about having an implant is an erection that works (duh). That said I feel how I feel and I have what I wanted an erection that works. The fact my penis isn't a natural teen raging erection that happens without pumping, goes down without pressing a button and was sore for a while after I had plastic cylinders shoved in my penis wasn't a surprise to me (duh). I still have a hallelujah moment everytime it works to make me hard enough for intercourse, stays hard as long as I want and because I can start to take it for granted now enjoy the closeness and inntinmacy rather than worrying our dogs will bark or a stress thought will come into my head and I won't be able perform. Some of us on the site are boring and talk about how it was easier than I thought annd better than I imagined re results. I was very worried since I had heard about how things can go wrong and almost backed out. I needed some of the boring stories of success to help me to get here even knowing not everyone is my age or my health or will have my luck with the results. And I didn't have expectations that I would necessarily be the same size but if I had enough to penetrate so be it. I am one of the boring lucky ones that are happy, happy, happy knowing bad things can still happen but happy. Studies suggest most of us will be. I am always sorry to hear about the very real problems others have had and thank God I haven't had to go through that yet. That said some of the voices like mine here have to be just happy to get those who are suffering to at least check it out rather than stay impotent without looking at an implant if everything else has been tried and failed. Get a good doc, go into it realizing you may be one of the guys who has problems but realize most of us after the initial few months will be happy with the choice. Check it out and maybe it will be the right thing for you and you will be having hallelujah moments with an erection that always works when you want (duh). ;-)
