guys
just wondering. this post applies to those that have experienced pain with using Trimix.
i had prostate cancer surgery in march of 15. at my 6 week appt with the surgeon, i asked about trying injections. the dr didn't want me to try just yet, however suggested trying Trimix gel.
i was given a sample (don't know what the ingredient percentages were). later in the week i tried it. short story, it hurt like h**l. i talked the doctor and he informed me that a certain percentage of men do have pain so i didn't try the remaining amount of course.
current - i visited my local urologist and provide the info above and he prescribed Bimix. its working fine i suppose, even though the erection strength varies from a 7-8 most of the time.
here is the question, for those that have experienced pain (i think its the alprostadil), have you tried it again since?
i read somewhere that prostate surgery patients may have a higher risk of pain than non-surgical patients. to that end, i would like to try trimix injections. my doctor says that the pain would occur again, but i am willing to take the risk. i think that a lower dose of alprostadil may reduce the burning.
so it is worth pursuing?

It's totally up to you, but I wouldn't base a decision on one bad experience.
Did it hurt all over or just at the site of injection?

I also experienced the pain. Tri-mix worked well enough but the pain afterwards was just horrific. It happened after intercourse was completed after every injection. I switched to Bi-mix and did not have the pain afterwards but the bi-mix did not work as well. I was having to use 80 - 85 units plus a 20 mg Cialis for a 10 -15 min erection. I went ahead and got an implant, much better for me.

I found this interesting. I may try Quad-Mix after I use up my Trimix
http://www.trimixinjection.com/tri_mix_info.html
Quad-Mix: Papaverine, Phentolamine, Alprostadil, Atropine
Quad-Mix includes the addition of atropine which may work synergistically to cause smooth muscle relaxation in the penis. In a study conducted by Israilov and colleagues, 13 patients that failed tri-mix had a positive response to quad-mix. Seven (53.8%) of the patients responded successfully with the addition of atropine.

Tarheel,
Just so you know, Tri-Mix Gel (if it the same as the one I had used in the past) is only and very nominally Tri-Mix. Yes it has PGE-1, PAP and Phent in it, but the last two are in tiny microgram amounts that, although they might have a little effect (I thought it was better than MUSE for instance) it is not enough to mask over or in any way reduce most of the PGE-1 (alprostadil) effects.
So you just might do a little better with Tri-mix.
That said, if you are indeed getting to 7 or 8 with Bi-Mix then, first, make sure you have the strongest Bi-mix formula you can get (usually 30mg Pap/ 1 or 2 mg Phent -- per ml).
Secondly .. do a search for 'velcro' (Fun With Velcro) where I described how you can easily get a 100%-er or more from a lackadaisical erection by snugging off the blood flow a little using a soft velcro strap adjusted just right (looped all the way around scrotum and shaft -- that is behind the balls - although at base of shaft works too).
I know it works for me -- just wish someone else would try that and confirm here that I have indeed saved their sex life with my idea .... oh well .. waiting ...
I guess i will have to add a picture or two on that thread to show people the amazing results ... always nice to show off a package "for science".

RP 2008 ... MUSE 2008-9 .. TriMix Gel 2009 .. Trimix 2009-2015 ... PGE-1 2016-2019 ..Misoprostal 2019 Onward. All worked.
Re: trimix vs bimix
I have traveled that same road, the Muse and Tri-mix injections both hurt for hours afterward to the point that I would delay having sex. The Bi-mix injections were less painful but less effective. I was using +/- 80 units plus a 20 mg Cialis for a 10 - 20 minute erection. There are bad side effects that can be caused by the injections. I opted to move on to the Implant 2 mo ago and feel that was the right decision for me. JMO

Kind of a tough thing pain and the amount can be form different things depending on your situation. In my case my cause it low T took me a while to come around and get help. When I started first with bi mix didn't work as well as I wanted tri mix did the job ,but like you the first couple of injections it hurt my URO felt in was because I hadn't been fully erect in a long time that was causing the pain after a few more regular injections the pain did subside. So if it's not unbearable pain I would consider a few more injections to see if your body adjusts to the tri mix best of luck!
50 YRS old Have had ED since 2005 started TRT in 2006 have used androgel, fortesta gels, aveed injections, and testapel implants testapel works the best so far. oral meds never really worked for ED used trimix with mixed results.
