Trimix Pain: Volume or Strength

Postby PundaSmith » Mon Jan 18, 2016 5:29 pm

Hello, I have been on Trimix (PGE=20ug/PAP=30mg/PHEN=5mg)/1ml. I take about 90 units (equivalent to about 18mg of PGE1) to give me a usable erection (7 out of 10), which I am able to maintain with a penis band/ring for about 20 minutes

A 90 units does give me some pain, which I think is related to the quantity I am injecting.
I am thinking of increasing the strength of the Trimix, particularly the PGE1 to 40ug, so my new prescription is (PGE=40ug/PAP=30mg/PHEN=5mg)/1ml. In this way, I can take less.

Would a significantly less quantity of the new mix (about 45 units) give the same level of pain as the old mix (of 90 units).

What are the advantages of going for a stronger mix ?

thanks - PS

My formula is similar except for the Phent, and I get no pain with it.

This is where it gets confusing.
My pharmacy dispenses a vial of dry tri-mix, and a vial of saline.
My directions say to add 1ml of saline and I thought that would be too strong, so I mix with 2ml of saline.
I realize that I could do it as directed and inject half of what I now inject, but it feels more comfortable
injecting more and not having the vial go nearly empty so fast. I'm injecting .2ml now (20 units).
It would be much less confusing if I got it already mixed, but I do like the shelf life of it in dry form.

I have been wondering about my Trimix formula if this is correct. My Doc says it's the maximum formula. I have cardio vascular disease which is the cause of my ED. The formula works fine, but only for like 30min to an hour...which is fine by me and my partner.
120ug/30mg/5mg/ ml

Is the 120ug possible?? Seems high compared to other's on the board here.
Thanks. I would appreciate any feedback anyone can give me.

Hi there, Yes, indeed your doctor is right. Here are the dosage ranges for the various components of Trimix:

• Papaverine HCl from 1 mg/ml to 30 mg/ml
• Phentolamine Mesylate from 0.1 mg/ml to 5 mg/ml
• Prostaglandin E1 from 5 ug/ml to 120 ug/ml

So, you are indeed on the highest dose of the PGE1, the prostaglandin.

How much are you injecting, and how is the level of pain?

cheers, PS

I usually inject from 12-14 units..and I have no pain while injecting or during sex. Sometimes a dull ache afterwards....I stopped injecting for several months because the pills were working fine....However I was also on a blood thinner Trental at the time to address some scar tissue I developed which has since resolved. The Doc who prescribed the Trental is no longer practicing, however my urologist who's prescribing the Trimix said the Trental wouldn't help..Now I Googled Trental and ED and sure enough there are several studies indicating that Trental is helpful for those patients who's ED is caused by cardio vascular disease...How can I know more than him?
