My ed began about 3 years ago. I was smoking mini cigars and inhaling them(i think this is what caused my ed). After a few months I felt some sharp pains in my penis, some days (not all the time). Then after a few weeks It looked like my penis twisted a little bit. Then about 1 month later I could not keep an erection. I can get an erection easily, but I cannot keep it up. I am looking for a solution but do not want to take viagra or any of the relating pills. Do you know why I have this problem? Please do not say stress or anything, im not stressed, I have money and I work from home in a lucrative field. This may be venous leak or something. I need help this is really hurting me.
Im in my mid 20s
had ed for 3 years now
Should I c someone who specializes in endocrinology? Hormone treatment? I am so sick and tired of urologist, I was going to c a "big time" uro in san diego and they said that they charge $500 for a consultation(not covered by insurance) and I had to put my card on file in case I cancel, they will charge me $75! Is this a business? I cannot believe this, I am so FED UP!

Re: Ed
John:
First, welcome. You are in a good place. Sorry to say this- but you need to see a very good doc. You are too young for this sort of issue. Rather than seeing a general Uro doc perhaps you should seek assistance at a major medical center where there may be more expertise. There are a number in Southern Calif. I am from the Midwest so I can not provide much assistance with a reference.
The symptoms you describe are such that a general good physical may be necessary. If you have a friend in the medical field, regardless of speciality, perhaps they can provide a reference. A series of tests may provide some information to direct a treatment regime. I will say that my ED is a result of PCa and the necessary robotic surgery. I am using pills and pump and doing OK. Not sure what your aversion to pills are but they do work for many and maybe able to restart things. There is also the possibility of injections and they do work for many men. But both will require a doc visit. Do not put this off as the pain you describe is not normal, as you know, and may indicate something you should look to now before it advances. I'm not in the medical field so you are beyond me.
There are also a select number of medical centers that have a sections focused on male sexuality. Since you have resources and could travel perhaps seeing one of those centers would be an option for you. You have taken the first big step to request assistance and are interested in addressing your issue. But, it will require medical exam and follow-up. Unfortunately you will find that insurance does not cover all of our needs when it comes to ED. But getting hard and staying hard is an important investment!!
Also feel free to join the chat room and ask about- someone may have an idea. Since it is summer the chat room can be quiet but keep trying.
Again, welcome. Best of luck on this journey.
Regards,
Dick
