Surgery soon getting very apprehensive

I was originally scheduled to have my implant surgery back in june but I have been fighting the insurance co.(Blue Choice) for about 6 weeks.All of this to no avail and I will be paying for the entire procedure out of pocket.I have my surgery scheduled for August 16th with Dr. Milam in Nashville.I have to make my payment 2 weeks before the surgery and I am really getting hesitant about pulling the trigger.My onset of Peyronies started in 2007 and I have tried pills,pumps,injections,and a graft surgery each ending in discouragment.My penis has shrunk about 2 inches in this time and I am able to have sex with my wife but it is frustrating.She says it's not the length but the rigidity.It seems pretty hard to me but it is either that or the upward curve which makes it hard for penetration.I would like to get any feedback good or bad to help me get over my cold feet.I am scared that if I have the surgery it may not help and it is a ton of money to not get any results.On the other hand,I am pretty miserable with our sex life as it is and can't see that continuing.I really need some help from some of you guys with experience.Please someone pull me back off the ledge or give me a push.I really would appreciate all of your thoughts!

My advice is to not wait. More than likely Dr Milam will be implanting a LGX, and overtime with the LGX you will gain back some of the lost inches you lost with peyronies. Had my implant done by Dr Milam last year, and I am very thankfull I got it done. I also had peyronies, which I also lost about 1 1/2 within the first 4 months after I discovered the curve. The first 2 weeks after surgery is a little painfull but you will be very glad you done it. I had a 60 degree curvature with peyronies, and now with implant I have no curve.

I used a VED about a month before surgury to help with the outcome. From what Dr Milam told me is the VED streches out the corporas to its maximum size.

It's a big decision for you especially with the cost you may have to pay. Medicare covered my AMSCLX100. I had no aprehension about this surgery. Let the MD do his thing after your thorough discussion with him about the expected results. My results were so positive, as was my hospital stay at Baylor Medical Center in Dallas, that I am most enthusiastic about recommending an implant. Mine has been life-changing. Tarheel, following my first post you asked who did the surgery. Dr. Joshua Fine of Baylor Medical Center Dallas. Recovery was fast, I thought, considering what was done. I have sent 15 picures and text to Paul, but nothing has been posted. Don't know what the delay is as he was enthusiastic to publish my story last September. First of all, go for it! I think the experience here would tip heavily in favor of going forward.

Thanks so much for input.I have just paid for my surgery and am very optimistic thanks to your replies.I have to pay 2 weeks in advance when paying out of pocket.For information purposes,my total is 19,601.00.I will post my progress after the surgery, as many of the guys who have gone before me have been such a inspiration.

Hey Tarheel.

As a recent implant recipient (LGX 7 months), I've recently been through the journey. Looking back, it was not all that bad. Looking forward, the future seems quite bright. Gone are so many problems from the "before implant" days. Weird how my penis was dead for so long that many other "now" non-important things had taken over. It's as though the light is always on nowadays. I'm looking at things through a whole new set of cojones men! It can be a good thing. Sex is a reality!
