Very stressed and really need some help

Hey guys, I would like to start by telling you my story, I was in an auto accident that broke my pelvis in 7 spots and shredded my urethra tube along with several other injuries. That was 2 years ago when I was 40 years old. Over the last 2 years I've had a total of 43 surgeries including having 2 heart attacks which resulted in a quad by pass surgery. I had a reconstruction surgery on my urethra and it is fixed. My doctor told me that he was going to measure my length and install the AMS 700 CX. When I asked him about the AMS 700 LGX he said that it was a sales tactic to sell more implants and that it wouldn't get anyone any extra length. In two years I have tried pill, injection, pump and nothing worked for me. So I have not had an erection in two years. He told me I have shrunk over the last two years but when he measured me, it wouldn't ever get any bigger than what he measured. These are my questions....

1.) Do you think that the AMS 700 LGX has the ability to regain length that I may have lost over the last 2 years without any erections?
2.) Is there something I should have been told to do by the doctors over the last 2 years to keep the length I had or even possibly add extra length?
3.) If there is something that I should have been doing before having the surgery to get all I could get as far as length is concerned, how long should I do it before having the surgery?
4.) Has anyone used Dr. Delk at UAMS in Little Rock, AR and where you pleased with his work/bedside manner?

I was told (shown) what my implanted lenght would be on my first preop appointment. He streched my penis out by grabbing the head and firmly pulled it straight out. He said that my lenght, if my implant was properly sized it would be what he showed me. I got the lgx and the lenght quickly came back to about 1/2" shorter than what I remenber it was before my ED got bad. As I inflate the lgx daily it still tries to grow lenghtwise but if it is still growing it is not much or maybe none. I am at 6 months now. To answer your question, based on my experience, I don't know. You will have a stiff errection that is for sure. The case for the lgx might be that if the lenght of the implant and/or the rear extenders are a little short because of the available selection, like you needed a size that felt inbetween the stock sizes, then the lgx's growing ablity might make up the difference. But like I said, I believe that if the doc sizes the implant correctly it may not make any difference. I do like the lgx's ablilty to be small (shorter) when not inflated. If you are not sure about what he said, your best bet may be to get a second opinion? In theory he might be wrong but then he may not.

Information from one uro group to pass on. I went to a meeting by the group that removed my prostate on ED. Basicly they held the meeting to inform us (ones they had done PCa surgery on) that they were now doing implant surgery. I felt like it was a bit of a sales pitch but that is another topic. One bit of useful information I felt came out was: yes you likely will be shorter than before ED, but pumping prior to implant surgery for a while would improve the length that would be implanted; thus improving your length after implanted. I remember they suggested pumping daily but can't recall for how many days prior to surgery. May be someone else has heard that recommendation. It would certainly be something worth asking your Dr. about.

Hi Steve. What a story! WOW. I'm sure glad to hear that you've made it through such trauma and are on your way to becoming a whole man again.

Well, first off... your doctor's response about the CX would have concerned me very much. He is giving you a bit of a bleak future based on "one man's opinion", HIS! And what does "it's a sales tactic to sell more implants" really mean? I have had the LGX 700 for 7 months now and it DOES GROW! If you've read any of my prior postings, then you've pretty much been along for my ride since December 2010. It's truly FANTASTIC!!! I won't argue any points that he made, but may I please suggest that you make an appt. for a second (and possibly third) opinion with a qualified male sexual function specialist. Dr. Milam at Vanderbuilt comes highly recommended as does Dr. Eid in NYC and Dr. Karpman near Stanford University in CA. There are many many other specialists but these three doctors do many many implants. As far as answering your questions #1. DEFINITELY 2. YES but nobody did so you should seek help from a qualified professional (see above) 3. See your professional for advice. Most doctors will recommend VED pumping for a period of time 4. No

Please, before going any further with this obviously pig-headed surgeon, see someone who is well-qualified to give you the answers that you seek. Dr. Milam and his assistant, Todd would be more than qualified based on most of the recommendations that I've heard.

It's truly heart wrenching to hear of all the pain you have experienced. It's also encouraging to know you have the presence of mind to forge ahead. Let me add my 2 cents worth. I have had an LGX 700 for about 3 1/2 months now. I have without a doubt gained some of the lost length from before the surgery - but not a whole lot yet. Prior to prostate Ca surgery I was 5 3/4 - 6" . I didn't inflate fully for almost 8 weeks, but when I started inflating (which was only about 9 weeks ago) I was about 4 1/4 - maybe 4 1/2" depending on how I hold the ruler. In less than 2 months I am easily 4 3/4". I know it is not a lot, but I believe the device has the possibility of enlarging for the first 18 months, so I have only just begun! I am not sure where and when the end point will be, but I am hoping for at least 5". I believe the answer to #1 is yes. As for #4 - no. And for questions 2 and 3, I don't really know - but my experience was that I really noticed the shrinking once I stopped getting regular erections. It was difficult to pump often and long for me - and the shrinkage seemed to proceed monthly no matter what - so I had the feeling that getting the implant sooner rather than later was the better course... which I did - less than a year post cancer surgery. So far I am very pleased with everything and would do it again. Don't think for a minute it is all peaches and cream though! Keep your expectations reasonable. There is a fair amount of discomfort. You will in all likelihood be smaller than what seems normal for you. Your penis will be flatter too, but compared to the alternative.... it's wonderful!

well just to add a bit more to Hoseboy's message. The Corpora Spongiosum (CS), or the part of your penis that runs along the urethra (underneath) as well as the GLANS (tip) will, in all likelihood, come back to life at some point within the first 18 months after an implant. This will cause your penis to become round and fully firm once again, ending the flatness that you talk about. Mine started coming back at around 6 months. This makes for a wonderful, filly firm and natural-feeling erection.

Hoseboy I appreciate your concern for all the pain I have gone through. I am so proud to report that I am feeling so much better to the point of getting on with my life. I hope you continue to be pleasantly surprised with the continued success of your implant. Hoseboy just one more question. Did you get the 700 CX or the 700 LGX?
