Here are some sites where you can see some info on Dr. Henry. He has published two articles on implants. You can read the abstracts on the links below.
Also, he has several videos on You Tube showing an implany operation. Hope this helps. JJ

Well done, JJ. Thanks. I like this Dr. Henry--sure hope he's still in Shreveport when my time comes!

Re: Help me find a doctor. within 300 miles
Hey Y’all! I finally got around to rubbing a couple of my brain cells together, last night and guess what I came up with? After all this messing around with the VA it dawned on me that I have a perfectly good Blue Cross ins. policy. I called them today and my policy does cover IPP surgery and it looks like it may cover 100%!
So I called Dr. G. Henry’s office and had a nice long talk with some of his staff. The long and short of it (I think there’s a pun hiding in there somewhere) is that I have an appointment with him on 9-19-11 (earliest available) and if that goes the way expected have surgery a week or two after.
Thanks to all y’all that recommended Dr. Henry, I feel very good about him. I have Googled him from all directions and only feel better about having him as my Dr.
At least I’ll know who my Dr. is going to be, what his experience is, be able to chose what device is best for me, etc.
Feel’n good!
Ron

Hey Ron
Dr Gerard Henry is a very good implant doctor. If there was a list of the 5 best implant surgeons in the country Dr Henry would be on that list.
Whenever I was going to see him for the implant, he answered every question i had about implants, he handed me alot of literature on implants. He knows his stuff. also one of the most down to earth urologist i have been too. Congrats on the insurance..

Re: Help me find a doctor. within 300 miles - Update
Ok here’s where I stand, as of now. I am keeping the VA surgery on hold. My VA PC Dr. agrees that I should go with a Dr. that is highly recommended, that has a history that can be researched, rather than taking “potluck” with what might be some "pimple faced med. student" on his first operation.
Thanks to you guys the recommendation part has been filled. Thanks to Google the research part has been filled.
I have my 1st appointment with Dr. Gerard Henry, in Shreveport, La, on Monday 9-19-11. At this point my wife and I feel very confident about this decision.
Thanks all ya’ll, if not for this forum and you guys I never would what options were available.
Ron
PS: The newest VA surgery date is now 10-27-11 (“subject to change”).
