Trimix Prescription

Postby Dixieland » Sun Aug 14, 2016 6:29 pm

Please help me understand my prescription. The Pharmacist tried, but I zoned out after he started because he confused the crap out of me and I was in a hurry cause I had to be at work. This is my script for 5 ml:
Papaverine Hydrochloride - 150.00MG
Phentolamine Mesylate - 5.00MG
Prostaglandine, E1 - 0.050MG

I left out the inert ingredients. Is this a normal script or would this be considered a low dosage? Seems like the Prostaglandin is on the low side compared to what others are using from what I have read. I tried my first dosage today (.20ml) to see how I would react. It was ok, but not like I was hoping for. Did bimix and at .8ml it was only ok. Switched to try trimix. Any help and words of encouragement would be appreciated.

Hey Dixie

This is my script for 5 ml:
Papaverine Hydrochloride - 150.00MG
Phentolamine Mesylate - 5.00MG
Prostaglandine, E1 - 0.050MG

The Trimix numbers you list are for a 5 ml vial. On this board, most guys list their scripts based on 1 ml. Thus, your script is:

PGE-1 = 50 mcg, Papa = 30 mg, Phento = 1 mg. -- or 50, 30, 1. You might try increasing your dosage in steps of .05 ml. (as long as you don't get PGE-1 inspired aching). You might also increase the phento to 2 or 3 mg on your next script.

The PGE in your script seems to be about in the middle of what other guys here are using. You could up that level too providing you aren't too sensitive to it. I'm one of the unlucky ones that gets pain from the PGE-1, limiting me too a very small dose.

I was wondering if someone could help me understand what I am taking. The Dr. says that I am taking TriMix but when I read the mixtures of others I'm not so sure. Unfortunately I do not know the actual strength numbers but here is what the label says:

Trimix: 0.25 (25 units) (T50)Papavine, Phentolomine, Alprostadil +0.0 (PG) Prostaglandin +0.0 Lidocaine 1% = .25cc. I want to start getting my script from a compounding pharmacy rather than paying the high prices at the dr. office (Men's Clinic). Does the above appear to be an actual TriMix formulation? I though that (PG) Prostaglandin was an ingredient in TriMix but here is say's that it contain 0.0.

First - don't know which "men's clinic" you are dealing with, but most of them are pure ripoffs. Any urologist or regular MD can write you a script for Trimix. You may want to read the link I put at the end of this message about a specific "male clinic".

The script you listed does not show ingredient levels, thus I don't think a compounding pharmacist can help much. In my opinion, this is deliberate -- designed to provide little info so that you are forever married to the clinic.

Trimix is typically specified as 3 chemicals, Papaverine (mg), Phentolamine (mg) and Prostaglandin (PGE-1) (mcg) or fractional mg. (milligram = mg, microgram = mcg). PGE-1/alprostadil is typically in mcg.

Your script shows dosage (25 units) and a value for Lidocaine 1% = .25cc. Lidocaine is not part of Trimix but is sometimes added to avoid the ache some guys get from the PGE-1.

Anyway, bottom line, suggest you get to a urologist that prescribes Trimix regularly and can give you a script that you can use to compare pricing/delivery etc. at any one of numerous compounding pharmacies located all over the country. (A Typical script could be -- papaverine 30 mg, phentolamine 1-2 mg, PGE-1 = 10-20mcg.)

Are you saying that Prostaglandin and Alprostadil are also referred to as PGE-1 meaning that they are the same thing?

Actually I might have found the strength. I found that my package said (T50) and found the like below suggesting that the T-50 is as follows:
Prostaglandin 2.9mcg, Papaverine 8mg, Phentolamine 0.29mg. Does that seem right?

Alprostadil is the trade name for Prostaglandin-E1 or PGE-1. All 3 names refer to the same chemical.

Can you give me the exact dosage of the lidocaine in your script.
Your posting ...
Prostaglandin 2.9mcg, Papaverine 8mg, Phentolamine 0.29mg.
left out the lidocaine.

I'm thinking of adding some to my scripe so I can increase the PGE-1 some without more pain.
