For that he would need to maintain an erection for many hours, no need to say anymore.

I beg to differ, NOWHARD. Some forms/activities require only attentiveness to one's partner's and your own feelings. No erection or penetration required.

It is a gentle art, more sensual than sexual. But an exercise of the mind that tends to clarify and focus - thus clearing away the fog that plagues many men with self-doubt and other troubles.

Defiant has erection problems and taking drugs for it, and tantric sex requires hours of erection, so the two don't really mix do they at the moment till he can get off this train he's now on, with all his anxiety problems, that's the one he need to get off, and its been going on for 11 years, and that long goes very deep.

So what your really saying is more like I have already put forward? or something like the same.

I disagree. The reading I have done suggests this is possible but, does not require any erection at all. Some forms even prohibit touching your partner for parts of the experience. The focus is NOT on penetration or even on orgasm as a goal, but sensuality, intimacy and congress with your partner.

It does appear we are close, but my main point is that the O.P. and his paramour might benefit by studying up on Tantra and enjoying that as far as they can go with it, with or without erection. There might be a surprize ending, who knows?

Lost sheep read this.
Tantric sex is an ancient Hindu practice that has been going for over 5,000 years, and means 'the weaving and expansion of energy'. It's a slow form of sex that's said to increase intimacy and create a mind-body connection that can lead to powerful orgasms.

What your on about is Tantric intimacy Exercise which is as you so is just touching intimate parts, so that is not tantric sex, slightly short but above is tantric sex, but if you really wont to know, go ask Sting, he loves it and its something you really need to healthy for and from what Defiant has said I don't think he would be for it and his mind would be somewhere else, for tantric sex you really need to be mind set on your partner.

I did this with my wife before we was married, but did not know it at the time, and you do have to concentrate the whole time inside your women to maintain your erection and that was for just 90 to 120 minutes of being engaged, without ejaculating and without a condom.

The fact that one has to study and know or follow the steps for Tantric sex is a put-off for someone with anxiety. Also, being with someone who is pitying you (though you love each other and she is co-operative) makes one somewhat subservient and really being condescended to - it doesn't help! Being absolutely free with someone, not caring who the hell she is or whatever the outcome, has theraupatic effects. Thats why I suggested an experienced hooker (after all some men spend their money only to talk with them to relieve stress). Most have come across all forms of ED, nervousness and anxiety.

However, there are those who have never had the experience but give their advice only on their own sense of values etc. They say, "try and fail is no disgrace." After eleven years, what's there to lose ...

Defiant, (and anyone troubled by preoccupation with a lack of erection.)

I, personally, find removing the expectation of an erection and allows us to focus on the sensual pleasures of lovemaking.  By not having a goal of (penile) penetration, it dispells the spectre of disappointment and for us is quite liberating.

I suggest you make a pact with your lover to (just once) have a love-making session with the intention of maximizing sensual pleasure without an expectation of penetration.  If you must have a 'goal', make it the goal of finding the most pleasurable activity not involving penile penetration.  Like a research project.  A hunt for non-vaginal erogenous zones and how to stimulate them.  Give her a full-body massage with scented oil, candlelight, music, etc.  Use hands, elbows, chest hair, massage tools (balls, vibrators, rollers, etc.) whatever you have, and pay attention to her reactions.  The next time, she can do the same for you.

By abandoning the search for the elusive erection, you and your partner may have the mental pressure relieved at last and be free to just enjoy what you have.

NOWHARD,

What I am on about is helping Defiant (the O.P.) refocus his attention from his erection (or its lack) to a more responsive organ (the mind - or brain, if you prefer)

If my short post "Tantric Sex" was misleading, I apologize.

The popular literature suggests Tantric Sex de-emphasizes goal-orientation.  If Defiant looks it up, I expect he would find this relief from goal-orientation helpful.

oowright,

One does not have to delve very deep into the esoterica to get benefits.  Just the concept and the proper attitude is enough of a springboard for most of us.

Pursuing the benefits of Tantra does not have to be hard work.

Lost Sheep his lack of erections and needing to take drugs for is all because of something the was said to him about his sexual performance, instead like most of us and just dismissing it, he took it to heart and the small seed that was planted has now after 11 years grown, this is what he needs to get rid of or overcome it, and the only real way for that is a good shrink who works with guys with sexual performance anxiety problems, and you really have to understand this goes very deep.

Meditation would be a good start to help with his anxiety and this he can do many times a day, but he must do it first thing in the morning and doing it again before bed and sex would really help him, but its the seed that was planted it either needs to be dug out of his mind or being told a way to bypass it.

This is the real help he needs now, but having sex for a whole weekend with his women and just focusing on her for all that time would really help, because of his planted seed he does not do that he is to worried about he performance.

I do not know what "shrink" means here. If the said shrink does not re-evaluate the "performance progress" there will be no effect. Such an evaluation can only be by "performance participation".

I believe that defiant needs to reassure himself that he can "perform". His honesty to his girlfriend is already an acceptance of failure and whatever he may do to attain his goals, he will never again be seen by this same girlfriend as a "natural he-man". He needs a drastic change in his life. He has to change this girlfriend then apply the advice of Lost sheep with the new person for long term effect, even a cure to his insecurity ...
