I personally found this useful but I believe the root of the penis is an 1 inch or 2 into the body and not part of this measurement.

If it is inside the body, it is not going to be of any use. So why does it matter and worry how much is inside the body?

The big question about a study like this is, "Were guys' sizes self-reported or were they observed by a researcher?" (Self-reporting one's penis size is not reliable, as we all would know.)

This is an accurate study!
The actual global average size is 5.16 inches...but someone rounded it generously up to 5.2. lol
This was physician measured.
I will add that this definitely reflects the penis sizes I see in our medical practice on a regular basis.
The rise of internet porn has really warped our perception of what is average.

Global average!!! I believe these studies are usually carried out in the "civilised" world. There are many "primitive" regions were such a study cannot be done and where the "average" is probably 7" in length or more and girth about 5.5". The average is therefore related to species and region. Knowing this "informal averages" is the reason why some persons seek others from specific regions or race for marriage and particularly why there is the current obssession for phalloplasty ...

The average has been known for many years as between 41/2 to 51/2, I think by Masters and Jonson and backed by another guy who's name has slipped my mind.
Hi few days late but it was Robert Chartham is the other one who did a mass measure to and average and come with the same results as the other pair and that has been the best guide for way over 40 years or longer, I think its best to have two figures to work with.

Are these measurements made with the ruler pressed tightly against the pubic bone (bone pressed) or with the base of the ruler resting where the base of the shaft meets the fat pad. There could be an inch or so difference.

Thanks to penis exercises, I have increase my erect length by almost one inch and my girth by over one inch.
