No problem I know how you feel but he's right I have been on HBP since my 20s and yah have to live so meds are what you have to do but I'm over my fear of showing the doc my weniss and pretty soon the whole surgical staff will get to see but I figure they have all seen one lol hopefully it will be fixed for a long time and hopefully I'll want to show it off

Welcome to the group, David. You have come to the right place. One of the best things you can do for your sexual health is to get into the best overall health possible, and with your medications it appears you are working on that side of things. Try finding a urologist who is very experienced in men's sexual health. I was referred to my urologist by my general practitioner, and as it turns out, she didn't know much more about men's sexual health than prescribing the usual ED pills.

Oddly enough, she is still my urologist and I actually may have benefited from her "let's go slow" approach. But if I had to start all over again I'd find somebody way more experienced in men's sexual health.

Unless your doctor has a problem with it, I would not be overly concerned about having a few alcoholic beverages. There are some cures for ED that will work for people who are social drinkers.

We all have to accept some tradeoffs as we get older. I am 60 and also produce less semen than I did as a teen. I think that is natural. Your urologist can discuss the best solution for you to get and maintain a very good erection. I tried all the pills but did not have any satisfying success until I began injecting a drug called Trimix directly into the penis before sex. Once you get used to the idea it doesn't hurt at all and the erections are phenomenal. However, there are some possible drawbacks, and you should read up on Trimix thoroughly before discussing with your doctor. This board is a good place to start.

Some guys move all the way up to penile implants, and there is plenty of discussion here about that too. The bottom line is that there definitely solutions for ED. Nothing can make you 18 again, but with a little help from the medical community you can certainly have sex like an 18-year-old once more.

Good luck with your journey. Trimix definitely did a great job for me, for a few years, maybe 3. Then like Cialis, it quit giving me firm erections. I also developed Peyronies the last year of Trimix but my local urologist who prescribed the Trimix says the Trimix did not cause the Peyronies. I went the implant route when nothing else worked any longer.

I don't like needles and I hate expensive surgery. I think I'd rather have a limp dick over injections and implants. My primary doc will help me along with this during a "somewhat" new problem. He's one of those old school doctors who prioritize issues and I think he's more concerned about handling what needs to be dealt with immediately before moving on to something else. I am curious how health insurance plans generally categorize a penile implant though...

I think most insurance pays if it is considered medically necessary. My Anthem made me meet two criteria which I met easily. In my case, the two criteria that qualified were high blood pressure and other methods having failed.

Medicare pays for it.

The needle really wasn't bad at all with the injections. Not at all. Now, putting a suppository in your urethra, THAT
scares the crap out of me. The injects not so much.

Good luck in finding your solution and in fighting that ED as long as you can without taking these more drastic steps.

An implant is very invasive surgery. I understand your concerns. On the other hand, an injection is nothing. The pain of an injection is about one-tenth the intensity of a mosquito bite. A hard dick sticking straight out over 90 minutes for a slight skin prick? Well worth it.

Returning to my doctor today. He always emails me results from lab reports, and most likely I'll be referred to a Urologist; but only because of early concerns with my kidneys and prostate. I was told to fast for a few hours before bed, along with a few morning hours before my visit, so I know I'm going to lose more blood today. I don't know what his intentions are exactly, but it seems to me that he's looking for underlying issues causing my problem.

I have had a problem for years then PC with radiation and that didn't help any. Then tried all the ed treatments and eventually they failed. Now after 8 years of very little or no sex my tool size has deminished due to atrophy. The old saying of use it or lose it is very True. In Dec 2016 I had the implant and am recovering now. I wish I had done it sooner And would not have lost much size. Just letting you know it will get smaller as years go by.
