I sure hope the catheter comes out this morning. On my original implant I took it out the next morning after surgery. Maybe i can do that today too.

Hey JB,

OK, get that catheter out and you will be on the mend. Nut sack does look full which might be a good indication that the pump is lower.

I wish you the best. Four weeks will go by fast and you'll be right back in the game.

Pics of swelling.

Postby jonbaldbg » Fri Dec 30, 2016 2:56 pm

OK guys, here are some post catheter pics. There is definitely swelling going on inside the sack, but it's not a grapefruit. I wish I knew what all Dr. Knoll did. I haven't seen him since before surgery. My follow up appointment is Jan. 18. I will be emailing him some questions before that. I really want to hear what all he had to do.

My hospital discharge packet included an AMX wallet card, but it was blank, no serial number, model number, pump, or RTE stickers. Not sure what's with that.

Some of you all who had post op swelling, tell me what you think of my swelling and how long it should take to go down please:

JB,

I had some swelling but not quite as much as yours. Mine was basically back to normal in 5 to 7 days. During this same time I had no pain.

I don't think your procedure left you with an unusual amount of swelling so it should be back to normal in about a week.

Keep us posted,

Thanks, Jim.

It is very sore, hurts like hell. The whole scrotum feels full inside and it is hard to distinguish what's what, pump, nut, whatever.

Hopefully, when it settles down, things will be in the right place. I do believe I spot checked it shortly after I woke up from surgery and did feel the pump way down at the bottom, so it should be good, but man am I sore!!!!!!

And Jim, some other things . . .

I don't know if I mentioned but Dr. Kramer said it looked pretty good and I should be fine. But, I'm here to tell you that when he did my original implant, I had nothing at all like this. Swollen, sore, and hard to pee. At times it almost feels like I still have a catheter in. You know the feeling, you feel like you need to go all the time but you can't. It also stings when I pee and that stinging was gone the evening of the day I removed the catheter.

Kramer somehow has a gentler approach. At least I don't have a grapefruit like some guys!!

Thanks, Donnie,

I hope all went well. I can't judge it yet and won't until the swelling goes down. I did mention though that after the surgery I did a little spot check and the pump was indeed low and in the middle. I have also run my fingers down the sides of the dick and there are no tubes blocking, best I can tell.

JB,

Sorry to hear that you're hurting so badly. It doesn't make sense that you are in so much pain from a much less intrusive procedure.

The catheter must have done some minor damage and caused some swelling. It is the only explanation for your urethra problems. I remember that my first pee after removing my catheter burned, but just that once.

I hope tomorrow will be an improvement for you!

JB,

Hope you'll have good New Years' Eve despite your 'condition'.
I have been there a year ago, stuck alone in a NY hotel room alone during christmas and new years with bad pain and swelling...

What I'd like to say to you is the same thing I told myself ahead of my surgery a year ago:
Post op pain is nothing. End result is everything. If I could choose between:
A: One month of bad pain and then a perfect result
or
B: Very mild or no post op pain, but half-crappy result (undersized, shitty pump placement, hinge etc)
I'd choose option A without a doubt.

Post op pain and swelling WILL for 100% sure eventually disappear. A wrongly placed pump WILL NOT disappear.
So just hang in there. Wait it out. Suck it up. It'll hurt for a few days or weeks. But then you're through and very likely, you'll come out of it with what you wanted in the first place.
