RRP, Sildenafil and VED for penile rehab

I had an open radical prostatectomy on Nov 21 2016, and everything seems to be going fine, psa next to zero, almost dry, etc. I would like to do what I can to preserve my penis length and girth in these relatively early days. At the moment length doesn’t seem too bad, girth a little less, and flaccid a little more flaccider than before. No natural erections of course. I’m 75 and in reasonable good health.

I started using a hydro VED (Bathmate X30) 4 weeks after the op, 5 times a week. With the VED I can achieve the same length and girth as before the op. I would like to try daily low-dose Sildenafil (25 mg) to try to encourage penile blood flow to supplement the VED use. I an not interested at the moment in penetrative sex, purely penile rehab.

Does anyone else have experience in using Sildenafil and a VED for penile rehab? What is the best time to take the Sildenafil, in the evening or last thing before going to bed? Would it be better to combine the Sildenafil with the VED use, and take it say an hour before using the VED? Are there any possible drawbacks in Sildenafil/VED use? Or does it matter, as the Sildenafil does is so low that it won’t make a noticable difference?

I am self-funding the Sildenafil, so no doctor’s instructions yet – I will chat to him later in the week. All the online advice seems to be centred on regaining sexual function, there’s very little about just rehabilitating one’s gear.

You are on track, but the best is daily cialis 5mg, along with ved everyday following protocol. If pills don't work, do injections! There are a couple of videos on that. And, don't let yourself go because it atrophys fast!

I've gone for Sildenafil as it's available in the UK in generic form at a much reduced cost. I don't think I'll go as far as injections for penile rehab.

I took low-dose daily Cialis for rehab, as you described. After a month or two I had to quit because I had severe acid reflux. I also pumped once or twice a day.

Almost five years later, none of it did any good.

Don't expect any miracles. If you haven't read this thread yet, please do.

I to used low-dose daily Cialis for rehab 5 ml , know (problem with acid reflex) everybody's different before bed and pumping daily , after one year starting to see results . give it a try , and yes one is cheaper than the other (pills) I agree with PFracture TOO

Glad you are working at it! I saw a doctor that specializes in penile reconstruction 80 days after my prostatectomy and he THREW A FIT because the doctor who took out my prostate (also in his practice) did not start me on rehab, vitamin E, pentoxifiline and pumping 2 weeks after. He said by 3 months you just as well do nothing because you have developed enough scare tissue to ruin all chances of rehab. He started me on everything immediately. The doctor who took out my prostate is no-longer there. d
