Implant on a 20 year old

Postby BigMike » Tue Sep 20, 2011 8:24 am

Hey guys. Haven't posted here in a while. Let me bring everyone up to speed.

- Severe ED for the past 5 years, since I was 15
- Tried the Big 3 (Cialis, Viagra, Levitra) with limited success
- Have been using Trimix for the past 14 months. Good when I'm by my self but not so good with a girl
- Met with the Uro yesterday and discussed implants

It's a big step, but it's really my last option. I just had a few questions that I thought you guys might be able to answer.

1. The Uro mentioned I was bigger and said the Titan system might be the best approach. I've looked into the different models and the AMS 700 LGX seems to be really nice. What do you guys think about the two different systems?

2. Just anything in general you guys think I should know before going under. I'm pretty much deadset on the implant because everything has failed, and I do understand the risks.

BigMike,

My experience tells me to listen to my doctor. The bottom line is this
is all up to you. I am sure the guys on FT can and will give you their very best
advice. Gather all the information you can and process it so you can
have complete confidence in the dicision you make. First and foremost
is you must be happy and content you have done those things.
Than go for it. Never look back!
Best of luck to you. You sound like you have a head on your shoulders
and a very good doctor you can trust.

I'd go with an AMS CX instead of a Titan. It looks more natural deflated and gets hard as a rock. I have a 24cm CX, the largest the LGX goes to is 21cm. The most rear tips you can have is 7.5cm if I remember correctly.

Well for measurements my girth is around 5.5" and my length is about 6.75" With that in mind do you still think the CX is the more appropriate approach? Also, what are rear tips?

And that's also what I've heard is that hte AMS series is much more real looking when deflated. I am however going to get to see what the Titan looks like "in person" (no pun there) but I'll only be able to see the AMS series in photos.

Hey Big Mike,
You need to talk to Minnesota on here. He is the youngest implant guy I know. He was 20 when he got his Titan. I believe your doctor is thinking endurance and ruggedness. You are young and active. think of the Titan as the SUV of implants. Minnesota will be along to say hi to you. look up his posts if you want to know what his thoughts are.

i have the AMS LGX. Had it implanted Dec. 2010 and am almost 9 months post-op. I LOVE IT! From what I've seen here in your discussion, guys are telling you what they personally have implanted and are recommending only that model. Please, make sure to investigate thoroughly because you'll be living with this implant for quite some time. The fact that you asked what Rear Tip Extenders (RTE's) are shows that you really do need to get your questions down and then get them all answered before progressing. If possible, you might want to get the advice of more than just one doctor. There are a few guys on FT who will demonstrate their implants via web-cam. If you're here often enough, you might eventually get to see what they all look like while inflated. FT is a rich source of information if you ask. The thing that I really enjoy about the LGX (aside from the obvious) is that it has really brought me back to where I once was in size. I inflate it a minimum of twice a day to the MAX and am making very good use of it. So it has been broken in properly. One thing that nobody seems to mention (so I point it out regularly) is that the new chambers go into the center of the old chambers (corpora cavernosa) which naturally creates a gain in girth. Mine was a substantial gain.

I do believe that once you get the right doctor and correct fit of the proper implant (fingers crossed on that one) that your life will change dramatically. Mine sure has! :D

Best of luck and write me personally anytime.

Agreed that everyone is going to go with what they have an their experience. But the fact beign that the Titan is "suppost" to be the most durable of the implant selection I would go with the Titan. If your anything like me, and it sounds like you are by what your lifestyle describes, I would assume a Titan unless a doctor tells you otherwise. Sent you a PM btw Mike

How long has the Titan been around? My implant Dr. did a revision on a guy who had his AMS CX for 26 years. I've read studies where the majority of them were still going strong after 20+ years. If Titans last that long or longer, maybe that is the better choice.

Rear tips are the non inflatable extensions they add to get the implant to the exact size of your corpora. I am over 7" long and 6.25" girth 2.25" width. Some of your penis is inside of you as well. Most guys have more penis inside than outside according to my Dr.

When you hold the Titan implant in your hands, deflate it fully then fold it over onto itself as this is how your flaccid penis will rest. When you do this with both the Titan and the AMS, you will notice a difference. This is how I determined my choice.

What Hockey said. I would go with the doctor. If you think you need a different brand, get another doctor. Don't worry about rear tips, lenght, girth. Just tell the doctor what is important to you and let him do what he does. Again, if you are not comfortable with how he sees it , get another doctor. I guess was as concerned as anybody about how long and how big around but I did what I said, let him figure it out. All this fretting over the details is not useful, I think, because when the thing is done, when the doctor and the AMS or Coloplast rep takes the unit they have decided on out of the box, you will be deeply asleep and will have no part of the discussion. Me personally, I have the lgx and I think mine is great but I would not recomend it for you, that's what the doc gets the big bucks for. good luck with your decision and outcome. Remember this is not a life long decision for you, by the time you wear this one out there may be more choices and better units to choice from. Don't get buried in details you have no control of.
