Re: Franktalk - Index project
PFrac,
As a published author, I was always fortunate enough to have my books indexed by an indexing professional. But in the process, I learned a bit about how it works.
If this is new territory for you, then you might find it helpful to Google "how to index a book." Lots of good info online, including war stories from writers who indexed their own books, various kinds of indexing software and just some general good tips.
On the other hand, you may already know this stuff. In any case, Godspeed. A worthy endeavor.

Also have a look at Google Advanced Search https://www.google.com/advanced_search?hl=en&fg=1. I use "site or domain:" = http://www.franktalk.org/ with the desired words or phrase in the search box, and the results are far more useful than FT's own search function. You could also use this to compile your index.

Amazing! Yes, I have often been frustrated having to go through dozens of pages just to orient myself with something someone was commenting on or to make sure I was responding to the correct person. Same issue with topics of conversation. Honored to possibly been some help to some here along with the well chosen group of other contributors. You are a hero for taking this on. d

Thank you both, for your input and suggestions. I am still mentally deciding on the structure of it. I want something feasible, doable... Was deliberating about doing it for ages...
