Things are looking up

Postby Red Nighthawk » Sun May 30, 2010 11:06 pm

I''m eight months post de vinci and the doc says it's OK now to take ED meds since there is a little natural life 'down there'. I've tried 1/2 generic V, and a whole generic V and as would be expected, the whole one seemed to work better. The wife and I were almost able to have intercourse, but as soon as I moved, Willie deflated. Tried again and the same thing happened. So maybe I need a rubber band once it gets firm enough. Or we're going to have to try some new positions. That should be fun. Any thoughts?

Red,
Hey, good for you. you're doing really well. You might try standing up - helps the blood flow. also, the less exertion, the better since exertion tends to draw blood from your penis. So, Doggy style is often the best for those tenuous erections - fortunately, most guys love doggy style. there is not a better view in the world! Also you can stand by the edge of the bed and she lies on her back and slides to the edge. Again, this is a spectacular position guaranteed to waken willie!

Also, an adjustable cock ring is really helpful. They are very cheap and really good. Read how to use them on the "Rings" page under Treatments. They should look like the ones below and cost well under $10. The lose ends can also be mildly stimulating against your scrotum. Meanwhile - what a great project to see what other positions can help! Glad you're on the mend!

Great to hear there is life below. I would suggest 2 things. See if you can get some pharmacy samples from either your Urologist or your Internist. Some of the generics don't have the same stuff all of the time. Also, if you don't have a "Prelude" (see pumps section) I would highly recommend one. It is a type of vac but it work different than a pump. There is a link to their site at the picture. They are not expensive and I really, really like mine! I found that it also helped with nocturnal activity- not hard but increase in size. The Prelude comes in 3 sizes as determined by the girth of the shaft. They are easy to talk which I did call. Its easy and fun to seat and use. If you get one and want to talk let me know. Instructions are simple and clear.

There is a thought, since no docs really know, that a regular dose regimen gets the penis and blood reconnected. When I started I took 10 mg of Cialis every other day for months. It won't solve the problem but its to re-acquaint the parts and function. The thing is to not get too uptight over the issue- a big problem for me and to keep a sense of humor. Both of you can still get-off and lighten the load and then play around until you figure things out a bit.

You are lucky to have this much sensation and possibility now. Good for you.

Hope this helps.

Another thought. The reason the Cialis is often used first to wake things up is its 36 hr last. The time frame seems to assist with reconnecting parts and function. If one of the Big 3 doesn't seem to work or you have a side-effect you don't like move on to another one. These are different meds and they affect each of us differently. Regardless of what some in the press think and say. I started on Cialis and moved to Levitra. I now, with 2 scripts, move back and forth from time to time. The change does seem to help a bit. I know these puppies are expensive. But when you are attempting to wake-up the Big Dog it is almost a cost of doing business. I'm very lucky in that my insurance covers 8 pills a month- at least its a start. In the beginning you need everyone of those puppies to keep some med in the bod. Now the 8 seem to be enough- most of the time.

Again I'm so pleased that you have such a base to work from. Most of us are not that lucky. In any event on with the therapy and fun.

Thank you Paul and Dick for the kind response to my note. Also, thanks for the tips and for the encouragement. I don't want to mislead, I am no way near the way I used to be and even hope to be, and that's OK. My goal is to be able to be a close to normal as possible, as far as erections go. Paul, when using the rubber ring does the pull through knob stay on top or below the penis, or does it matter?

Thanks again and all the best to those going through the same thing.

peace,

john
