My Implant Experience

Here it goes writing a breif summary of my experience on Sept 13,2011
i had a AMS 700MS 3 peice implanted had a follow up around 3 weeks later
was told everything was fine i complained of the tubing around my penis
was very discomfortable and painful and was told he would re-examine it
during my next visit.Had another follow up visit 4 weeks later
was told i was still fine but he would move the tubing to another location
to get it deeper into my strotum and get it away from my penis where it was
rising up along the side of my penis.Around Nov. 13th,2011 i went for my
2nd surgery which he moved the tubing and it was moved considerable and
deeper.After the surgery he came to me told me everything had went well
and how hard it was to do it his phrase was "we had to practically diasect
you" but all is good and looks well. Went back like 2 1/2 weeks later was
told i was healing well and i told him i was experiencing a lot of pain
and burning worse than before even had to go to the ER before the follow up
was give pain meds. and another med. for inflamation and swelling that
helped for a while then on Dec.16th 2011 i wake up to a extremely swollen
strotem swollen so bad that some of the recent stitching i had gotten came
lose and was oosing clear sticky fluid so i called the Dr. they said since
you have an appointment this coming Monday Dec. 19,2011 we'll call you in
a perscription of levquin but if you get worse come to the ER well i got
hurting more called my Dr.'s answering service the Dr.on call told me
there was no need to come to the ER cause there wasn't anyway they could
help me if i would need surgery so i took it as i was on my own till Monday.
Well come Monday Dec.19th 2011 i go to my appointment the Dr.took one look
and i thought he was going to run a race having the nurse to schedule me
for surgery the following day pre op at 6 am and surgery at 9:30 am. So the
next morning i find myself going through the routine again this time it was
all taken out.But right before the surgery he told me in 4 to 6 months he
would try a 2 peice unit then the next day the 21st told me he nor any DR.
wouldn't try placing any implant in me because of scarring damage and
my diabeties.I feel as if all this Dr. has done was use me and my insurance for
a fast dollar at my expense and pain with no good results.
So "what should I do?" or "can anyone help me with advice?"

Also i was to get the LGX model and more or less was told after surgery take what you got.

I am speechless. This sort of thing is ione reason I don't think I would want to risk an implnat, especially at my age now. I wish you the best in healing and solutions to this major problem.

There are no words to express what I'd like to say about your doctor, but I do hope that you can hang in there and get this all worked out. First of all, I think you need to see a top-rated doctor and get another opinion on the aftermath of this botched surgery. This should be done as soon as you can manage to do it. Most examinations are no cost so you could at least get another opinion (or two or even more).

I hope that someone here at FT can give you advice on what steps to take legally. Do you have copies of any pieces of paper that you might have signed before each of the surgeries? Try and get everything together for what might just turn into a legal hassle.

There has already been one person to say that they are now turned off to the whole idea of implant surgery. I hope that this doesn't happen to many more men. There have been a few stories about the negative side of implant surgery. It proves one thing, choose your doctor wisely. If the doctor does not give you information that you need to hear, then choose "another" doctor wisely. As with so many other things in life, the outcome may not turn out to be the best. But there are many many men here who have had success with their implants, myself included. I look forward to a time when you can write back and give us a happy ending to this whole miserable mess! I'm so sorry for your loss and will be with you throughout this ordeal until you are a whole man, once again.

Let me say this as well i didn't post this to discourage anyone actually i encourage every man to get this done if his health permits it because you owe it to yourself as well as who you may be with.My main goal is to an old saying like buying a car buyer beware well same goes with your Dr. if you aren't completely relaxed and comfortable with your Dr. it's time to find another unlike myself i somewhat ignored some of the warning signs to go elsewhere. And this site is to me the best site for information of what to expect and the good out weighs the bad so keep the post coming guys/FT

I am so sorry to hear of your ordeal. I am diabetic and 9 months post implant. I had a lot of swelling and inflammation, the worst my doc had ever seen. I also got an infection a couple of weeks after surgery, scared the bejeebers out of my doc, he told me afterward that he thought he might have to take mine out. That would be a first for him, he'd only had 2 other infections in 15 years. He and I had a lot of conversations, he knew I was a member of this site and was very informed, and told my under no uncertain terms that I was to call him any time something got worse. He did not tell me to wait until my next appointment, that is BS. Inflammation, swelling, and pain are signs of infection. I had the first 2 as a result of the surgery, but they never got worse. I had my incision open slightly and start oozing puss, that was the indication I had and infection and I saw him the next day. He put me on 2 antibiotics with instructions to call him the next day if I didn't improve. He didn't mess around! Today I am fine and very happy. One small issue with a piece of tubing, but nothing I can't live with.

Try to find a good doc and schedule a visit. I wouldn't give up yet!

I'd also suggest you find a VERY experienced doctor who had dealt with similar circumstances. It will take research on your part, including examinations and Q/A sessions. If a surgeon can build a working penis for a transgender, rest assured you can have a working penis too. It all mostly depends on the skill of the doctor and his pre & post op care.

.im 21 years old venous leak patient and i have never had enough hard and long erection...my doctor will do venous leak surgery but i know that is not long-term successed operation i heard you got an implant...are you pleasure and making a lady pleasure in bed ? do you having a hard rock erection with implant? .....please mention me about your implant and sex life....

Hard drive has an excellent point. I would add that there have been a number of published articles about men losing not only legs and arms in roadside bombings and IEDs in Iraq and Afghanistan, but also losing testicles and penises. They are apparently doing amazing work building new man parts for wounded warriors. this can be done.
