I have been off the forum for several weeks due to business and other concerns.

Most of my story in in the implant section. It started with peyronies in 1995 and finally got my implant 10/23/08 by Dr. Douglas Milam at Vanderbilt in Nashville Tn after a failed attempt by a local doctor.

If you would like the draft of my story "One Mans Journey" send me an email to jwp104@att.net. It is my journal through one year post op. Now at almost 2 years I will tell you that the implant is a normal part of me. My wife and I are very happy. Sex any time any place we want, for as long as we want. Can ejaculate and keep on going as long as you or she wants.

I had a bad experience with the ED shots. Caused corproal fibrosis and made things worse. Most men that use shots only do so for about a year and then quit. Carverject will also warn you to watch out for a sudden curve, that is peyronies and that creates more problems.

Good Luck. Any way I can help let me know.

Yea I definitely will. I'm pretty much opting for the implant, but my parents are some what against it. They want me to give the shots a try. I'd rather not because I know I'm going to end up with the implant within a year anyways so why not just get it now. Any advice to help convince them?

They need to talk to other guys who have implants. Where do you live? I attended an Implant seminar in NYC that totally explained everything and made me realize that if things ever go downhill, I'll be right in line to get one. They are the only CURE for ED. The guys who have them love them. Let me put you in touch with Colin.
Thanks

I'm from Michigan. I'll see if I can find a seminar. And I emailed Colin, but I couldn't get a reply.

I can understand your parents' concerns. And it *may* be that your insurance will *require* you to use the injections and other things for brief time just to prove that they don't work well for you..... before they would approve the implant. Just a thought.

It's a big step. I *LOVE* mine...... Hope you can talk with Colin. He's a great guy!

Well, my parents are more concerned about the implant not functioning correctly then me being fucked for the rest of my life. That's really their main concern as we're fairly well off.

I'm actually going to pick up the shots right now. I'll keep you guys posted as to what goes on and if I have any questions :) Thanks for all the help so far too.

You might also consider joining http://www.healingwell.com/ It is the Prostate Cancer forum where they have over 93,000 search-able posts some of which may deal with subjects of interest to you. Many men suffer ED issues as a result of their cancer treatment.

Please be advised when going to do your home work that the whole world can read your posts but only members can comment. So the rules of written content are tighter then here.

I am 65 now and I just can not wrap my mind around the challenge you face.

Consider this idea. I use a Noggleberry VED from http://www.noogleberry.com/shop/

It is reasonably priced and will help you keep the penis tissue in good shape while you make up your mind. I use the pump as exercise low and slow and not to erection but just a slight filling or bulking. When full, I do kegels to keep me reminded where the muscles are that effect the intensity and location of our climaxes. Penis tissue is like most muscle, if you don't use it you lose it and the penis gets smaller or shorter or both. I do this exercise about twice a week and sometimes she will help me and do her own exercises at the same time. We really only have sex maybe once a week or less now but I'm lucky that when we wish to do that I get hard with 1/2 a Levitra and a little manual stimulation. Then, I'm ready to go with no pump and no penis rings. Sort of natural but adjusted for our new NORMAL now. We are 65 and 71.

I wish you the best on your search and please keep us posted as things go along. We do care about others and would like to be kept in the loop as you progress.

Thanks Jim

Thanks man I do appreciate the information. I'm using the shots now so I'll see how it goes. But I'm leaning towards the implant.

I went to Healing Well and did a little homework for you.

My message is a little technical but here goes anyway. That site is searchable but that is a little quirky to get done.

First go sign up. Once your "Signed In" load the Prostate Cancer Forum to your monitor. Here is where it gets quirky. Just above the BLUE TOPIC line is a window and it will say NEW TOPIC -Last Comment. Punch that Last Comment button and chose TOPIC, then punch again.

That has organized all approx. 9000 posts alphabetically by subject line. With numbers first and then a,b,c......

Take this and paste it into the upper window: http://www.healingwell.com/community/de ... x=25&ord=t (Which really is page 212 of the new list)

That will take you to the portion of those posts that deal with "Penis Implant" posts by others. From there you can go on to read 213, 214 or 215 or until the subject changes. If you look carefully at the text I gave you above, the number 212 appears buried in the text. If that is in your upper window and 212 of 325 total is P for penis take a WAG at where in the alphabet "Implant" would be and go there with a new number substituted for the 212.

Once your close you can fine tune you search by clicking pages at the bottom a few at a time.

I hope this helps you do your homework.

Jim

Lots of info there Jim. Thanks a lot. You really took a good amount of time to do that. However most of the info there was stuff I was already familiar with though.

Also I've pretty much decided that I'm going to go with the implant. I hate the idea of sticking a needle in my dick every time I want to have sex and it's just so inconvenient.

This is Jim and I did contact Jack as requested above: jwp104@att.net

He was nice enough to send me a copy of his story and I have now read it. It provides many details and much useful information to anyone considering an Implant.

If this subject is of interest to you and you have been lurking and reading the threads. It is OK. But now, please reach out and take his invitation to contact him.

I for one am very impressed with this site. Although it is small, it has managed to gather participation for some very worthwhile people who with their strength of character and good judgment, have offered to help others deal with some personal issues.

I applaud that courage and want to nurture its growth. The spreading of knowledge puts control where it belongs, back in the hands of the individual. It is my opinion that is where it belongs.

With proper care we as individuals can make serious decisions about these complex situations life puts is in. We come from varied backgrounds but share a common bond. For various reasons we find our sexuality threatened by illness, disease and sometimes the poor performance or bad advise of a medical professional.

We are not anything close to medical professionals in education or life experience but we are first and foremost sexual beings with hopes and desires we want to express to those close to us. We have a right and should carry a reasonable expectation of finding a way to do that.

Male sexuality in all of it's forms is our bond.

If you arrived at this post and have read this far, some matter of this content interests you. I want you to stop lurking and reach on behalf of your sexuality and do something to address your needs.

If I move a few off dead center, I will feel I have accomplished something of value.

That's my "Line in the Sand".

Where do you stand?

Thanks Jim
