Need advice/support Please... Considering implant

ok guys I have had peyronies for about a year and a half which has given me some little hourglass shape, some thinning and shortening, and a mild curve to the right. I have pretty bad ed. Don't even wake up hard anymore. it takes lots of stimulation just to get a halfway decent erection and all this at 30 years old so as u can imagine its made me very depressed.

so anyways its gotten so bad that even cialis has lost most of its effect. so now I'm thinking implant. from what I've read the ams lgx seems like the best option. I'm was already a grower not a shower but it of course got even worse with the peyronies. can this implant still work just as well for me considering my pd? I really want to be sexually normal again as I've been so down he past few years because I used to be normal so the memories of those days makes me feel very depressed because I love sex so much and I'm so young still so. what r he chances that ill get my both girth and length back?

I also have an issue where my sack gets really tight sometimes to where the balls seem like thy are going up high, then at times especially at night my sack gets VERY loose and saggy. These are two extremes that started he same time my pd and ed began so I'm thinking maybe hormonal change that took place? Anyways I'm worried there would be an issue with the pump in my sack.

can any of you please address any and all of these concerns I ask? Thanks a lot

By joining Frank Talk you have become a member of a brotherhood of great guys who will always be here for you and who have all walked in your shoes while battling ED.
First, I would suggest you see a Urologist who specializes in the treatment of male sexual dysfunction.
He will probably run a Doppler Test to check if there is sufficient blood flow to your penis.
The two main causes of ED are insufficient blood flow (arterial insufficiency) and venous leakage.

I think that the best way for me to provide you with some info about ED is to share the story of my battle with ED.
I developed ED Post-Prostatectomy in February 2004 at age 65 and had never experienced any problem prior to that.
Viagra, Cialis, etc. did not work for me.
After much research and having the opportunity to speak with 2 men who underwent the Coloplast Titan Penile Implant Procedure, I had my Titan Implant Procedure December 13, 2007.
The Titan Penile Implant completely corrected my ED and restored both my sex life and the emotional intimacy with my wife of 45 years.
I became a Coloplast Patient Educator in January 2008 in order to share my Pre-Implant and Post-Implant experiences with men still suffering from ED and its devastating side effects.
I just celebrated the Fourth Anniversary of my Titan Implant December 13th and my wife and I could not be happier with it.
Also, the Titan Penile Implant is recommended for men with Peyronie's Disease because it it made of sturdier material.

I am on my way to the implant as well. I am slightly older than you (I am 39) but still consider myself young.
For many years I used to think that my ED was just "in my head" like too much stress, etc. Until I found I have venous leak. So it is a good news and bad in the same time. The "good" part is that no longer do I have to look for "relaxation" and "not too worry about that" since the problem is pretty much genetic. The bad thing is that it is not really curable. So different kind of "viagras" and injections do not work for me; and the only option left is the implant.
Just like you I have a very big concern about length loss...

Conceptually the idea of an implant sound very attractive - just think about having "unlimited" erection anytime anywhere. The problem comes if the procedure was not done properly.

Reading through the posts on the forum one might get an impression that many implant procedures go wrong. However this is very subjective. The thing is that those who are happy with the output spend most of the time in the bedroom and only few altruist who have good results spend their time helping others on the forum. Usually people look for "second opinion" when there is something not quite right. This way the concentration of people with not-so-happy stories is higher here than it normally happens.

The biggest concern I found so far is that sometimes doctors put the implant rods shorter than it should thus resulting either in fluffy head, or too much of a length loss.

I will try the implant anyway since I do not really have too much to lose but still feeling nervous when I think of "bad measurement"...

It seems to me that the best due diligence anyone considering an implant can do is to (1) Research surgeons thoroughly and select your carefully and (2) Be an informed patient: get as much information as you can and don't be shy about asking the surgeon all of your questions about all of your concerns. Assume nothing.

I was diagnosed with severe Peyronies (scaring) and Venous Leakage at a young age and told the only treatment for me would be an implant. Being young I was uncomfortable with the idea of an implant so I spent the next few years trying injections and vacuum pumps neither of which worked very well for me. Over time I became very depressed about my situation. Last year I decided it was finally time to do something about my problem so I went ahead and had the implant surgery. I am always selective when it comes to choosing doctors but because of my severe scaring I knew that I needed to find a urologist that had a lot of experience dealing with implants/Peyronies. My surgeon told me that my surgery took a little longer and was a bit more difficult due to my severe scaring but he was able to do the implant no problem. I am 2 weeks post op, the swelling is gone and my penis is completely straight. I would suggest doing your homework on choosing a urologist. I believe this is VERY important! As far as loss of length, all implant patients suffer some loss of length with or without Peyronies. Since I need to wait 4 more weeks before I can fully inflate I couldn’t tell you how much I lost but I know I’ll be happier with a little less length and a rock hard straight penis.

Could you possible tell me what hormones I should be tested for. I already know of testosterone, free testosterone, and prolactin levels, bit what other ones can severly impact sexual function?

I used to be very normal, very horny and sexually active. And something had obviously messed me up and I know pd was one of the factors that contributed to my current dysfunctional state.

I also believe I have a venous leakage as well. Can you tell me how old you are and are you having any regrets about your implant thus far? i know its soon, but how much length have you lost?

Hello Nostalgic - welcome to FT. I don't have pd, but because you do I do recommend you find a good surgeon. My urologist doesn't specialize in implants, but he does a fair share, and he came recommended highly as a surgeon. I think you and your doctor will have to decide on the implant, pd may limit your choices somewhat.

I have the 700LGX, and I'm very pleased. About 10 month post op. I will disagree with the statement that ALL guys lose length. Not true. I'm back at my pre surgery length of 6-1/2 inches. I've heard of a few guys that gain length. I wouldn't count on it, I would plan on losing between 1/4 and 1/2 inch, hopefully you won't be disappointed. I was a "grower" before, I'm definately a "shower" now. I just got the tape out last night before pumping (I try to pump several times a week to get maximum growth out of the LGX). I was 5-1/2 inches long and 4-1/2 inches in girth "flaccid". Flaccid is a joke, I'm just less hard. I put in 10 pumps and I was 6" in length and 5" in girth. I gave it about 10 more pumps and achieved the 6-1/2" length and 5-1/4" girth. I joked with my doctor before surgery, telling him "Don't short change me." He didn't.

Your mileage may vary....... I had read these boards for years and had arguably the best surgeon in the USA and I still lost 1/3 of my previous length and width. The tips don't even reach the base of my glans. Why? I don't know...... The first time I pumped it up, my wife said, "honey, is that inflated already?" Imagine how I felt, having just flown from N.E. Asia to the USA, having spent $20,000 that I really couldn't afford, having endured the anxiety and pain, having lost 1/3 of my johnson, and now having a penis with a small floppy head that is cold and insensitive and difficult to insert/keep in..... It was just so disappointing having read all the guys on here over the years talking about how the were just as long as before, and even thicker than before, no floppy head/loss of sensitivity, etc...... I just assumed that I was gonna be the same as them, but I got a different result......

Anyway, I hope yours turns out better than mine. Remember that noting will be as good as what you had as when you were a young man. Wish for a good result, use a VED daily for a few months, lose weight if you are overweight, stay focused, chose an experienced surgeon, and keep in the back of your mind that it could still turn out a little worse that what you had expected/hoped for. That way you won't be so disappointed in the event that your result isn't as good as some of the one's you read about on here. Hope for the best, but plan on something maybe a little less than that, just in case.....

Hey I'm sorry to hear about that experience. That's gotta be very difficult to go through, I can't even imagine. Do you know how common the floppy head issue is with implantees?

Could you tell me what doctor did your surgery?? I really want to be well informed when picking a surgeon and not go in without knowing his work, both bad and good cases and I know most if not all doctors will not admit to botched surgeries they have performed in the past.

This is one of the reasons I am not 100% sure about having surgery. It's a life changing decision. Maybe you could gt a new implant by a different doc.
