From many posts here I think there is a correlation between how much of the length is lost and the pre-op dick size.
It looks like the most length loss experience those with bigger penises like 6.5"+. Perhaps there is a limitation on the rod length due to the amount of liquid that can be stored in the reservoir.
So far I have not found a case where a guy with average size (5-6") would experience any loss.
Anybody knows cases where pre-op 5.5" would lose more than ¼”?
Post-implant shortage observation
Re: Post-implant shortage observation
I have read that if there is scarring and/or plaque buildup inside the penis, that it can cause the implant cylinders to be unable to expand. So that could be one cause. Another one, of course, could be from the surgeon undersizing your cylinders (and rear tip extenders).

Hi Dmikesaw
Do you know if there is any way to check whether or not there is that scarring or plaque buildup prior to the procedure?
The possibility of shortage scares me a lot... basically this is the main factor of the go/nogo decision I am going to make.

Danny, lots of guys perceive a substantial loss immediately after the procedure. BUT if the procedure / sizing was done properly, you will find that after several months your size difference is minimal. There is so much swelling, and then healing, and breaking in to be done that you just have to be patient. On RARE occasions, the implant may be too short (pretty much a goof up by the doc), but it's pretty rare and can be corrected if it happens.
it's nothing to worry about. I personally lost more than most (yes, it was the fault of a lesser experienced surgeon) but I had some inches to work with and it's still getting better all the time. I wouldn't let that particular fear slow you down.

Re: Post-implant shortage observation
i had plenty of scar tissue due to years of injecting. My doctor went right through it and out the top when he installed my LGX. He created new chambers for it and then it was up to ME to keep the scar tissue from growing back again around the new implant. You may have heard me say it before but I'll say it again. You gotta WORK IT to keep it in good shape. By working it, I mean inflate it on a regular basis and pretty much keep the rods of the new implant free of scar tissue by tugging on your penis often. In my case, my GLANS (head of penis) was small and the tips of the new implant retracted some as soon as the operation was over and the doctor drained the saline solution. So I've had to work very hard to keep pushing those tips into the GLANS when I'm "working it". Some could call it masturbation but I honestly put in an effort for at least 20-30 minutes at least TWICE a day to keep the chambers free of new scar tissue and keep those rods inline and sliding like well-oiled cylinders. No floppy head for me because I've pushed those rods right into the GLANS. I have tell to the truth, it feels REALLY REALLY GOOD TOO! I would encourage you to think YES for the implant. What have you really got to lose? You wouldn't even be thinking about an implant if you already had big hard boners. After the implant, chances are that YOU WILL have big hard boners again. The operation really isn't all that difficult.
62. Retired. AMS 700 LGX implanted Nov. 18, 2013. Ask me any questions about being implanted or life afterwards.
Re: Post-implant shortage observation
well said LGX_Man I lost some length but I love the fact that it can be hard at a moments notice..if it is shorter like mine dont worry about it.. use what you got and love and live life to the fullest and enjoy your hard dick where just a short while ago you could not

Re: Post-implant shortage observation
I have been working mine just like lgx man said (for about 4 months now), but mine is still 1/3 shorter and thinner than before. And I had arguably the best surgeon in the USA. I can learn to live with the loss of size (though it is ego crushing), but it is the small, floppy head (tips don't go all the way to the glans) and loss of sensitivity that causes most of my problem...... And I can't afford another $20,000-$50,000 for a revision to correct the problem..........
