Thank you all for your welcome.
Maybe someone can give me some advise.
Had my radical prostatectomy mid June then the scissors in July as everything closed up, only to have to go back for further in August for laser to open things up again. As I had nodes, nerves and extra taken as my Gleason score was 5+4=9. I have been told to accept nothing can be done for the little fella.
I drink 2 litres of fluid a day to make sure I don’t close again, which in turn makes it hard for control of the wees.
Have others found they still have pain several months down the line as my specialist says it is still healing!
Also had surgery to remove several large melanomas off my back and arms.
Trusting someone can give me some advise, TOMVIC

Tom:
Welcome again. If I may, where are you getting your medical care? Firstly, there are a number of thing that are possible for your favorite body part. As you have read here, many of us pump to help regain function and to preserve length. I am also a PCa with robotic surgery. If you want to start a pumping regimen, I suggest you consider beginning with the Prelude. It is discussed under the Pumping Treatments Section and they are not expensive. I began my pumping activities with one and it was a most useful activity. It is a soft pump, not good for sex but it gets the blood flowing thru your shaft and that is a very good thing. Then if you like the activity you can move to another pump. Now there are "medical" pumps and I have one. They work very well but are quite expensive. Consider visiting your local adult toy store and get an inexpensive one to start. They suggest that you choose a pump cylinder that is close to your erect diameter of your shaft; that way the effort goes towards preserving your length and not just girth expansion. Also, consider talking with your doc about injections. They are emerging as a good tool for most guys to begin seeing and feeling the wonders of hard again. As this clan will share we have a great many guys who have become bionic (implant) and the very vast majority are very pleased with their new life.
Good luck with the surgeries for the melanomas. Keep vigilant with your doc on that cancer and then do enjoy you your emerging sexuality. Things change with PCa and you can find a new sexual normal. It is different but just as much fun. I'm sure your are still using him- keep it up!! Even without a hard the activity is good for him and for you. Keep us posted and take control of your penile rehab. It can be improved and the activities are fun.
Regards,
Dick

Re: HELP
Hi Tom,
By joining Frank Talk you have become a member of a brotherhood of great guys who will always be here for you and who have all walked in your shoes while battling ED.
First, I would suggest you see a Urologist who specializes in the treatment of male sexual dysfunction.
He will probably run a Doppler Test to check if there is sufficient blood flow to your penis.
The two main causes of ED are insufficient blood flow (arterial insufficiency) and venous leakage.
I think that the best way for me to provide you with some info about ED is to share the story of my battle with ED.
I developed ED Post-Prostatectomy in February 2004 at age 65 and had never experienced any problem prior to that.
Viagra, Cialis, etc. did not work for me.
After much research and having the opportunity to speak with 2 men who underwent the Coloplast Titan Penile Implant Procedure, I had my Titan Implant Procedure December 13, 2007.
The Titan Penile Implant completely corrected my ED and restored both my sex life and the emotional intimacy with my wife of 45 years.
I became a Coloplast Patient Educator in January 2008 in order to share my Pre-Implant and Post-Implant experiences with men still suffering from ED and its devastating side effects.
I just celebrated the Fourth Anniversary of my Titan Implant December 13th and my wife and I could not be happier with it.
I share my experience to show that a full and enjoyable sex life is definitely possible Post-Prostatectomy
The FT Group has a bunch of great guys who are always willing to reach out to other men suffering with ED.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or just want to talk.
Bob

Re: HELP
Hey Bob,
I'm George, 63 and have ED problems. Viagra does work for me, I just hate taking it. It causes a flush in my face, and my sinus stop up and I can only breath through my mouth and then it may not work as good as I like it to each time. Erect but not real firm. I can get a pump now and no cost to me and if there is no discomforts with it, I can handle the surgery. Now, with doing some reading, I am finding out you loose length as you get older (Just thought my hands were getting larger..LOL) I'm sure the implants would take of that Is there any itching or discomfort in the pump system? I am also tired of what cold weather does to the little fellow, and wonder what is going to happen when he tries to draw up for the weather and the balloons aren't going to let it shrink that much. So, to sum it up, I don't have to have a pump to enjoy sexual performance, it is a want to case.

Re: HELP
George,
Before you move to the implant, I would suggest considering two other options that I found work for me. By the way, I experienced the same facial flushing, upper body heat, and nasal congestion from Viagra. I have found that while there is some of that from Cialis, there isn't as much. I take 5 mg daily Cialis and either a 20 mg of Cialis or 20 mg Levitra (all being generics ordered from Canada, but made in India) on days I have intercourse, and both work consistently well. Before the success with the daily Cialis, I got my urologist to prescribe Trimix, and I have found that to be even more dependable for a firm erection than either Levitra or Cialis. The injections sounded scary at first, but it's only a tiny sting when the needle goes in, and the results quickly overcome any hesitation once you start taking them. There is an American Pharmacy Solutions (compounding pharmacy) in Mobile that provides the most reasonable source for Trimix that I have found: http://www.americanpharmacysolutions.com/
I think that if you haven't tried the generic daily Cialis or the Levitra or the Trimix, you might consider those before something as irreversable as an implant.

Re: HELP
Thanks Littlejohn!
The thought of me or anybody else sticking a needle in my penis scares the living crap out of me...LOL One of my worst fears is someday having to be catherized.. Looking at the prices of the Trimix appear to be rather expensive, I don't know what the normal dosage is? The daily dosage of cialis or Levitra, I assume wouldn't be cheap either. Not that I put a price on my sex life... If I get Viagra from my local pharmacy it would cost me $18.00 a pill. Got the pills from India for $3.00/pill, but don't know if I could get them in the dosages you recommend.

Re: HELP
The daily Cialis generic from NorthWest Pharmacy in Canada costs me about $30 per month; I've forgotten what the 20 mg of generic Levitra and Cialis cost, but it's much less than the "brand" names. Two 5ml vials of Trimix from the American Pharmacy Solutions, including shipping, cost me less than $100. I have gotten 14 injections already from one vial and have about 1/3 of the vial left, so at that rate, I'm thinking it costs me about $2.00 per injection, considerably less than the pills for guaranteed success. An occasional "prick" doesn't scare me as much as permanently removing part of my penis for an irreversable implant. I would only consider that after all other solutions have failed, even if my insurance paid for the entire procedure.

Re: HELP
Thanks Littlejohn,
I am going to set up an appointment with my urologist this next week and see what he says. I haven't been to one since I had a cyst cut out of my scrotium. I have had to have (3) cysts cut out of my scrotum (final got the roots this last time), three different times and a vasectomy so going under the knife in that area is not new to me. Last time I was there, he (the doctor) is the one that told me of a pump, and even took me into his office and showed me one. I'll see if I can get in next week and look at all the options.

Hi bama, and welcome to FT.
You mentioned earlier what the cold would do if you had an implant. Trust me, there is no more shrinkage! You can get out of the pool at the nudist resort and strut proud.

Check out the Injection Forum and the Pumping Forum. Lots of good information and personal experiences in both which can give you a good perspective from different angels on each technique.
