Are there any avid bicyclists out there with penile implants ? Do you still bike ? How long did it take you before you could get back into it ?
I'm only one month post implant but I can't even sit on my bike seat without pain. Hurts my scrotum where the stitches were. Got a different seat but it didn't make a difference. I'm not giving up biking (used to bike 100 to 150 miles a week). I should say I ride a road bike. I know I can go to a recumbent, but I would really rather not .
So how long did it take (if you did) for you to ride comfortably again ?
Thanks for any answers.

Re: Biking after Implant
Hi Rancher. I’m a “keen” cyclist but not the distances you do. I’m 6 months out since implant and have to say the enjoyment of a good road bike is not so great with my third bollock. Makes any distance unpleasant. And I would rather protect it. So small 10-15 k rides only with good cushioning shorts etc.
Now Implanted 9/12/17. 52 years old with ED for over 20 years. Tried all the pills and injections. Update. Implanted with Titan 22 + 1. by DR Ralph Dec 9th London. Now in recovery and at 3 months feeling the journey was worth the pain.
Re: Biking after Implant
Rancher, there has been several threads on here about biking with discussion about the benefits of different saddles. Maybe you could do a search and find them. The only biking that i know anything about is on a Harley Ultra with a big soft seat. Sorry I can't help you more.

I ride a Cannondale m300 , I recenty notice a flat rectangular type snubbed seat that might be useful, at least temporarily; at Walmart for $20. Imay try one myself.

Re: Biking after Implant
I ride bike a lot, about 10 miles per ride. I am totally comfortable. The only change I made was to add a padded seat cover over my regular seat. I wish I had done that before the implant because it is nicer on my butt. I never notice any discomfort from the pump or cylinders.

I'm an avid cyclist too, road bike (Specialized Roubaix). I'm five weeks post op and can't even sit in a chair without pressure on the sack, so I know there's no way to sit on my bike. I'll be following this thread. My friends wonder why the hell I'm not riding now that we have warm weather. I sure hope it gets better. Can't imagine NOT riding...

Vince,
That pain or irritation will improve soon as you continue healing. Consider a padded seat cover or one of the seats with the hole in the middle to remove the pressure on your sack.

Re: Biking after Implant
So I'm making progress on getting back to biking.
I already had a seat with the cutout in the middle. The one I have also has the nose pointed down. Anyway, I tilted the seat forward some (had to experiment). Put on my bib shorts with the thickest padding. The bib straps keep the pad in place and tight (thus holding everything in place). I also lowered the seat ever so slightly. Seemed to work. No pain.
Tomorrow I go for a short ride (25 miles) to test it. My wife is on stand-by in case she has to come and pick me up.
We'll see what happens. Oh yeah, I ride a Waterford.

Rancher,
Good luck. My first ride was 10 miles and I had no pain or any other issue. I hope you do well, too.
