Advice needed for new pump/ring user

Postby ji9nh123 » Wed Jun 06, 2018 11:35 am

Looking for advice and suggestions on using tension rings with the pump. My boyfriend had prostate surgery in the beginning of March. He has recently started using an inexpensive pump with good results. He/we would like to move on to using the tension rings with the pump and have ordered a set in various sizes that have the side handles which hopefully will make things easier with the pump. I read an article mentioning use of a ribbon as an alternative to the tensions rings and although that really didn't work well for him it worked well enough to determine he might get better results from an actual ring. I'm looking for any suggestions at all on how to transfer the ring from the pump onto him as simply as possible and best positions for him to have some success with this if he is able to maintain an erection for any length of time. On a side note I could care less about this but he is frustrated with his body not responding the way he would like and is anxious to try whatever methods may work. I am doing my best to keep this issue as low pressure as possible while still being supportive of whatever he would like to try which right now is the pump/tension ring method. Thank you.

Before my ED became too severe, I simply slid the tension band down my well my pumped, lubricated shaft as close to the base as I could get it. I would then kegel in some more blood to increase the engorgement.

If this does not work, you will need to get a “medical” grade pump system that is designed to allow the tension band to slip off the end of the cylinder onto the base of the shaft.

The moment the pump is removed he looses erection completely, we are hoping to find a way to get the ring on quickly/at the same time as pumping. I know some users slide the ring directly from the pump onto the penis....that is one of the things I'm hoping to learn more about or even placing the ring on the penis before pumping??

As dtwarren said, you need to get a medical grade pump. They are designed without the fat lip on the mouth of the tube. That makes sliding the ring off onto his shaft much easier. The medical grade pumps usually also come with an adapter to make it easier to place the ring on the tube. Make sure you lubricate the tube and ring adapter prior to use as it will significantly increase the life of the rings. Quality medical grade rings aren't cheap but IMHO are necessary for the proper function of the VED (pump) for the purpose you propose. I suppose you can use the medical grade rings with the cheap novelty pump. It will be harder to get the rings on the tube and the rings likely won't last long. It will also be harder to slide the ring off the tube onto his dick. Try to get a medical grade pump with a ring adapter.

To be clear, the proper method is to place the ring around the lubricated mouth of the tube, pump up his dick and then slide the ring off the tube onto the pumped up dick while the dick is still pumped up inside the tube. It's more difficult with the cheap novelty pumps with the lip on the mouth of the tube. This isn't a perfect solution but it does work.

If you're female please quickly turn your user name and this thread over to your boyfriend. This forum is considered "Men Only" by both the moderator and administrator. The moderator gets apoplectic when women post here. I sincerely want you and your boyfriend to receive the advice you seek. Hopefully you'll be given time to turn your user name and thread over to your boyfriend. Of course I may be making an incorrect assumption and both you and your boyfriend may be male, making this post irrelevant.

I am a female, I didn't realize the board was for men only and won't continue to post after this. There is very little to almost no resources such as this for women that I have found on this subject especially as it relates to recovery from prostate surgery. :(

Some of the penis enhancement sites such as PEGym and Thunders Place have Forums covering pumping and ED and encourage female participation.

To me you sound like a wonderful, caring girlfriend.
My advice would be to look into medical grade pumps.
They are designed to do exactly what you describe.
Married 50+ years. Use VED for sex and do
daily exercises with both water and vacuum pumps.
