Same response to your same post in the other sub-forum:

I don't really have any advice. It sounds like you're dealing with it pretty well. VEDs and rings aren't a perfect solution but they are a solution that works.

Some guys get a sleeve to wear at the base that both cushions the VED tube and provides some support to combat the hinge effect. Possible source: http://uandmetime.com/products/for-men/. I have no experience with such devices or the linked company so I can't recommend. Just an example.

It sounds like you're doing OK to me. Just keep practicing.

If you search this site for penile sleeves you will find some really informative discussions about the sleeve. There are also detailed discussions on dealing with the hinge effect.

Missionary isn't a problem for me...just always cognizant that I don't pull too far out. Compared to my pre-VED erections, this technique was far more stimulating to my partner than my ~80% pill induced erections.

The toughest thing for me is inserting without losing the erection. Just make sure you guide it in with your hand and all is fine.

naginati,

Just get a penile sleeve ... you asked for a solution ... that is the only solution that works.

Pre implant, I used a Vacurect VED for 6 years. It worked well, since the penis was sucked through the ring which was pulled down into the fat pad. There was very little hinge effect. My wife was pleased with the larger than life erection it produced (both length and girth, especially the girth). And after 6 years of using it, I kept my pre-prostatectomy 7 inches, after the implant.
There was a learning curve in using it. But it was very easy to load the ring by just snapping it on to the cylinder.

Good luck!

Yup, wierd feeling fucking a torch but there you go, needs must. It is funny when you think about it.

Anyway, I noticed the lack of support at the base, although there is some, and that it was a bit difficult to thrust hard unless I kept it deep.

I did my research here and this is the 'hinge effect'.
I understand what it is now and why it happens.

What advice do you chaps have for this?

So far, it's okay if I keep it deep, I'm worried missionary would be difficult and that doggy would be easier. Hmmm
Not ideal for first time with a girl, missionary is the norm at that stage.....bit worried now

That's reassuring to here, I think I'll be okay, there is a knack to using them but it does work well. I don't have to use a pump, just have to work my way up through the increasing tensions of ring, pure venous leakage you see.

Was it the prostate operation that made you go for the implant in the end?

Before my cancerous prostate was removed I was needing Viagra every so often. After it was removed, pills did not work at all. I had a poor time using shots. So the only thing that would coax my little penis out of the of the folds of skin was a pump. I tried several of them. The one that worked best for me and the easiest to use was the Bonro Vacurect. Turns out that the pump helped me regain my pre prostate removal size. I lost no length or girth after implant. It took me 7 years, after surgery, to come to terms that my erection was not coming back, ever. I look back now and wish I had the implant immediately after surgery or as soon as was possible. It would have saved me a lot of anxiety.
