Question for prostatectomy patients

Postby TwoStep » Sun Mar 25, 2012 12:01 am

*Edit

I have now been diagnosed with an autonomous nerve injury by way of a Wiest CC-EMG. This kind of nerve injury is the reason for post-prostatectomy ED and shrinkage.

The question has changed to one about shrinkage:
how long does it go on and how much is it in total? girth/length
What was your penis like after surgery? Was it a normal flaccid or had it changed?
How long has it been since surgery and can you get an erection?

*original

Hello guys

I inflicted damage on myself trying to stretch my penis one night and since then the front half of my penis has not been functional. I believe that I have damaged my cavernosal nerves, the same nerves which are often damaged during prostatectomy. The difference is that my damage (still speculative) is inside the penis where prostatectomy damages the nerve at a point in outside the penis.

I would like to ask you a few questions:

How much of the cavernous nerves was spared in your surgery?
What was your erectile response like after surgery?
What was your penis like after surgery? Was it a normal flaccid or had it changed?
Would you ever feel the inside of your penis turn hard in its flaccid state?
Was your glans dry?
What's your erectile response like now and how long has it been?
How much shrinkage have you had?

I ask because I have this symptom of the flaccid penis getting hard and I wonder if it's a sign that there is still some nerve connection.

Thanks for your response

Have you consulted a qualified physician--probably a urologist--about your suspicions? It seems to me that the longer you wait, the more difficult the recovery might be. Just saying.

Yeah I've been to many doctors and recently I was lucky enough to find one who actually has the apparatus to test for nerve damage. I have now diagnosed with an autonomous nerve injury by way of a Wiest CC-EMG. This kind of nerve injury is the reason for post-prostatectomy ED and shrinkage.

The question has changed to one about shrinkage:
how long does it go on and how much is it in total? girth/length

How long did it take for your shaft to disappear? Did your glans shrink?

Thanks for your help guys, it's pretty strange having the expectation of losing most of my penis so I'm just setting my expectations

Would using a VED help to stop shrinkage?
