A little info. about the FT chat room. Some have asked questions. The FT chat room is a great place for new members to meet other members. There are three areas of chat.
1. FT Chat Room - general meeting other members - not private
2. The Other Room - generally not as busy but not private.
3. Private Chat - Requested by one member to another.
It is understood that ANYTHING told a FT member in private is not to be shared. Please be mature enough not to repeat it to others. Never mention another FT brother by name or screen name. This is provided for private confidential conversation only.

Requesting a private chat.
Pressing the people icon takes you to the list of room occupants.
Select the member you wish to contact privately.
Your request shows on their screen.
To accept a request or speak to the requestor press the people icon and select that member. You will then be in the private chat room with them.

Seems pretty straightforward. Is the chatroom a new feature so the members aren't familiar with its functionality? I'm just curious.

They seem to be rather inclusive. Some chat guys rarely post and posters rarely chat. I do both. The best of both opportunities.

Gentlemen, the chat room has been updated to a secure site. All Sites had to become secure or the search engines would stop using us. This has affected the chat room because your computer uses a whole set of old pages to log into websites you frequently use. The chat room is working perfectly fine at the moment. However your computer is probably fighting with the new secure chat room because of your history.

If you are having trouble using chat, please empty your cache. Also the flash chat program that runs chat is no longer supported by Android devices. You may get it to work if you use dolphin or Puffin web browsers. I can't get either of those to work on my phone but apparently some people can. Another solution would be to try a different web browser on your computer such as Google Chrome, Firefox, Puffin, internet Explorer Etc.

I know it is frustrating but if you notice virtually all websites had to become secure. We are going to have to start looking for a new chat program as it is because Flash chat is no longer supported by most web browsers. When in doubt find a teenager.

I guess the new system doesn’t like Dell computers either! Followed all suggested remedies. Yes the cache is empty! It will not open! You also mentioned that Chat will not work on Android devices, it apparently will not work on iOS devices either as Chat will not open on iPad.
I’m not sure about this “secure” excuse. I am able to to get on other sites that are secure!
