Biggest Challenge

Postby Frank Talk Admin » Tue Jun 22, 2010 5:08 pm

Guys,
I have been trying to explain the challenges of using a VED to a surgeon. Would you guys mind sharing why you quit using a VED? Or what was the hardest thing about using a VED? If you are using a VED successfully, what, would you say, was the key to success?

Even the new guys on here will benefit from seeing your answers. I have always contended that a VED is a great answer to ED, but the failure rate is so high because guys just don't get the right training.

Would you mind sharing the trials and success of using a VED?
Thanks
Paul

I agree with Mike.....I had a prescription unit which came with several nurbered rings...#3, #5, #6, etc. was told by a rep and also mentioned in the instructional video...."You may require more than one single ring or band.....add a second one"....talk about discomfort! The Company Rep sent me a circular guard with a hole in the center....slip over my dick and pull to the base. Designed to prevent my ball)s) from being pulled into the tube when the pump was activated. All in all, I'm greatly pleased that I don't have to rely on the pump anymore....it really never reached my expectations.

Thanks guys for these responses. Mike, can you be specific about what it was that was hard about the rings? they never fit? did not work? hurt? Did they slide off the cylinder easily?
thanks

Hi guys,

I have a pump also, though just an inexpensive model I bought at an adult store. After I opened the box, I have to admit I was stumped. No instructions, had the pump a silicone ring and a sleeve that fit over the end with a hole in the center to stick my penis through. (I didn't know what this was at first) The first few times I used it, I didn't have the sleeve on and the pump dug into my pubic area. Very painful. After searching on the web, found a short video of a guy using a similar pump. Also didn't know that the ring should have been on the cylinder and after being pumped up, I should slide it onto the base of my penis. I have to say that I cannot use the pump for sex. After removing the pump I don't stay hard. So for me the pump is fun exercise, but I need the cialis for sex.
It would have been nice to see pictures or a video before using this.

I still pump, and that is about the only thing that works for me. Again, rings. The rings that come with most pumps are did not provide enough constriction for me, and the smaller rings are uncomfortable. I had to use the smallest rings available, two rings, 4/16" diameter, in order to maintain an erection due to veneous leakage. I will say Osbon does make the best rings though, and does address alot of the problems the other rings have. I decided to try out the medium pink Osbon rings, and have to use two of them. They are much better than other rings I have tried.

Oh, and another issue with pumps is very little instructions to poor instructions. Never do they mention about having to take time between pumps, or pump a few times, release the vacuum, pump so more, release, and then pump slowly to a full erection. Doing this helps draw blood in easier, especially for a new user who has not had a natural erection for some time.

The pump is good for a while. I only learned on this site that pumping and then releasing, pumping and releasing again, etc. would allow me to get a more comfortable erection. The instructions didn't mention that technique.
Like the other guys I experience leakage even with the smallest ring. It's a bit comical that while I'm pumping my wife my own "pump" is deflating!
I've read that most men give up on the pump after a while. Let's face it - it's very unromantic. I prefer now to use the Muse ( I need 1 mg - the highest dose).
But the pump is a stand-by. I can still use it for exercise. I still use it once or twice a week for intercourse, even though it isn't the ideal solution.
One good result of using the pump is that it has helped me to gain a little more length and has helped to activate the nerves down there. Now I can get a better natural erection just by rolling my penis in my hands. When that happens, I quickly lubricate it, slip a tight ring over it, and it's fit for some gentle masturbation or intercourse ( not for long, but long enough to achieve the satisfaction of knowing that it's a natural one.)

Good for you Jim! Wish mine did the same now.
Just got a new pump since I sort of blew up my last one tinkering with it. Will let you know my progress with the new one.

Scot, thanks for that post. I'll try out someof your ideas with the pump. I'll try the two rings, and after folding in the earsof the rings, I'll repump. Even if that doesn't deliver a perfect solution for me,it's got to be better than what I've been doing.
