questions???

Postby blacke8184 » Fri Sep 10, 2010 10:53 pm

Evening Gentlemen!

I've just moved over here from the general forum with questions regarding an implant. I'm not sure if it's time or if that is really the direction I wish to go. So I have decided to do my "just" research.
First question: Under normal circumstances, when a man gets that "certain" feeling! That sense of "stirring", that feeling of fullness developing (Jesus, it's hard to find the right words!) anyway, after an implant is that feeling lost?
Second question: Does anyone know of any surgeons in the midwest(wisconsin) that does these procedures? It seems as if most of the docs are in the south and east coast.

gotta go, will return with more questions, thanks!

The short answer is NO. The penis has 3 corporal chambers the two (2) Corpus Cavernosum (CC) and the Corpus Spongiosum (CS). The implant is placed in the two CC. The CS contains the ureathra and is part of the glans (head). That is not part of the implant procedure. The implant does not effect any feeling you have in the penile shaft or the glans.

Most of us on the forum use Dr. Douglas Milam at Vanderbilt in Nashville TN. Take it from me it is worth the time to travel to Nashville and see him and his staff. Dr. Milam is a Male Sexual Function Specialist, you DO NOT want a general practice urologist for this. I went to the "best urologist in Memphis TN." and he punctured my ureathra on my first implant attempt, That is when I started my own research that lead me to Dr. Milam.

Send me an email to jwp104@att.net and I will be glad to forward you a lot of the results of my research.

Have you lost penile size? I did from peyronies and have gained back about 90% of my lost length and my girt is back to my youthful 6.28". During my research I learned that the only implant that expands in both length and girth is the AMS 700 LGX. All others only expand in girth. A good graphic is at http://www.amslgx.com.

Any way I can help just let me know.

You are in the land of implants up there. Both companies are headquartered in Minnesota! So, There are two ways to find good surgeons. www.straighttalk.net is the site for Coloplast. EDcure.org is the site for AMS. They both have surgeon listings. See who is near you and go from there. Do your research, check your insurance and you will be fine.
your doctor will choose the right implant for you. Each man is different.

Thanks for the input guys. I can't tell you how nice it is to "talk" to someone those has this problem. I've had to hold this in for such a long time!
Here's a functional question, If necessary, can you still urinate if the implant is inflated? Can you feel the saline reservoir in your abdominal area or the pump in the scrotum? I understand that the implant itself is not felt.
For those of you that did go out of town for your procedure, how did you handle any complications? How long do you need to be off of work (white collar)?
Everyone's sexual appetite is different mine is on the higher side not daily but at least a couple times per week. Will that be a problem? The implant is a mechanical device, would it wear out prematurely or is it designed for frequent usage?
It sounds like many of you have had a very positive experience. If you had any negative aspects of this experience, what would they be and what would you you do or have done differently?
I'll await your replies. Thanks!

To answer your questions.

Most of us also had problems for a long time before deciding on an implant and then wonder why we did not do it sooner.

OK Yes if you have to you can urinate with the implant inflated. You can not feel the reservoir in your abdomen but the pump in the scrotum is easy to find. It is like a third testicle. You can feel the implant when flaccid but when erect it is hard to find. Feels just like an erection when you were 18. NO it is not felt during sex.

I live a 3.5 hour drive from Nashville. Did not have any complications. Would suggest you take off a couple of weeks from work though some guys go back to work in a week.

We aveerage sex 5 or 6 times a month. You can have sex every day if that is possible for you. ;) When the implant is activated at 6 weeks you need to pump it up at least twice a day and hold it for at least 5 minutes. That gets the implant and your penis to stretching. I gained back 90% of my length lost to peyronies. Most of the gain was in the first 3 to 6 months but continued for 18 months.

What would I have done differently. Had the implant years ago!!! :D :) ;) :o
