Question on girth

Postby dennov » Tue Sep 18, 2012 2:28 am

Hi everyone, I'm new to the forums but have been reading Frank Talk for some time. I don't think I've seen this question before, when using a VED I can get an increase of about 1 inch in my girth, does this mean that when I get my implant (Titan - 10/12/12) I should be able to get my girth to this larger size since I'm able to "stretch" it to this size (width) with the VED? Also is it possible to keep using the VED after the the implant to keep that larger girth (if the implant wont get me there)?

Thank you!

Do you already have the implant? From what I understand the Titan do not stretch in size.

Whoops sorry, that's supposed to read 10/12/12. I didn't mean stretch in length but in girth.
Thank you for your reply :-)

If I remember my reading correctly, all the implants expand in girth to some degree, while only the AMS 700LGX expands in length. I don't recall if I ever saw girth expansion numbers for any of the implants.

Since I will most likely be recieving an AMS 700LGX on 10/1/2012 I have not concentrated much on the Coloplast line.

Remember the ultimate expansion is limitted by what the penis will tolerate more than what the implant can deliver. The same is true for length of course.

If I may be so bold as to use the length number, you can expect a maximum of 18% expansion from the device. Remember I am using remembered AMS data not Coloplast data since I am at work and don't have my research papers with me.

I'm no expert, just another patient with a Titan. The Titan can expand girthwise a great deal. More than the LGX or CX. However, my Dr (Eid) told me that it was rare for any device (CX,LGX or Titan) to ever get to its full width potential, with the patient's anatomy being the limiting factor.

I get fractionally less girth than I did with a VED (now 7 mos post op). Remember that with a VED you get engorgement of both the cavernosa and the spongeosum. The implant, whether Titan, LGX or CX only helps inflate the cavernosa. Some people get little or no engorgement of the spongeosum (which depends on your own arousal and blood flow) post op, some get lots, and some get it later, after a delay, sometimes a year or more. The spongeosum engorgement adds to girth do a degree. AFAIK, as a general rule, and baring special situations, you should be able to get at least as much inflation of the cavernosa with the implant as you could with the VED. Sometimes, with the implant, you will see improved girth expansion over time as you work it as your body continues to stretch. In my case, I haven't. I have been told I have a lot of peyronies scar tissue that restricts girth. I think everyone is a bit different. But without spontaneous engorgement of the spongeosum, you might not get the same girth as the VED, unless you are one of the lucky ones who continues to stretch in girth over time with the implant.

As far as the VED post implant, AMS in their manuals explicitly states you should NOT use a VED. I haven't seen a similar statement from Coloplast about the Titan, which allegedly is sturdier. But I've never heard of a doc recommending it, and I personally would be extremely cautious and never consider it without assurances from a highly experienced doc.

Thanks all for your replies, I'm hoping for at least 1/2" to 3/4" improvement on girth, if I get a one inch improvement I'll be an extremely happy camper.

Are you talking about an increase from flaccid to erect? Here is and interesting video to watch about the Titan implant.

Thanks for the video link, very interesting. I'm talking pre-implant erect girth verses post implant erect girth. What little bit of firmness and girth i get now (with cialis) i can increase by about 1" with a VED, i was hoping the Titan will give me the same girth as the VED does. I think since the VED can swell me up to an inch more girth i should think the Titan can do it as well. BTW, my wife likes girth over length so this is for her not me ;)

Thanks,
