I’m sympathetic to your issues. I suffered from ED at your age but wasn’t aware anything was wrong. When the only erectile you have any experience with you is your own, it becomes the norm.
I was diagnosed at 29. There were no pills back then.
I’m notorious for saying what I think, so I’ll do it again. I believe if you try to proceed directly to an implant at your age without giving injections a good faith try you are a damned fool.
Let’s put this into a medical analogy. Let’s say you have a skin cancer-a basal cell carcinoma. The treatment of choice is to remove the tumor and stitch up the hole that was left. You don’t rush to bombard patient with radiation and chemotherapy unless it becomes necessary.
Popping your dick with an insulin needle and a few droplets of trimix isn’t a big deal. I should know. I did it for 32 years.
You weren’t even alive in 1987 but the implants available would have left me permanently tied to about a 5x4 inch dick and a malleable implant. Better than no sex but hey, I’m male, and I enjoy having a somewhat larger cock.
Injections made me longer, thicker, gave me very reliable sex for nearly 30 years. Only in the last few years of taking shots did the medication become less effective. If I wanted to Jack off I didn’t need a shot, I’d just use a cock ring and if I list my erection temporarily it’s not like I was disappointing some girl or that I needed to be fully rigid.
My biggest fear about implanting an 18 year old would be you aren’t done growing yet. The first implant truly was a piece of cake. Zero complications, like a hernia repair or vasectomy (well except for a bruised dick & nutsack). But each subsequent revision brings with it a new and increasing risk of infection. Bacterial colonies do set up on implants, antibiotic coating notwithstanding…and a replacement is down the road. It might last 15-25 years but eventually it’s gonna fail.
And one other thing…..if you’re headed to Texas to talk to Clavell you might put Bryan Kansas on your list. Unless you’re Jonah Falcon and have to have a Titan (Kansas is an AMS guy) he’s really good, his staff is even better, and he offers among the lowest self pay packages out there. When this 18+5 LGX quits my plan is for him to put in a 21+4 CX or special order me a 24 cm CX plus RTEs by the end of the day.
Yeah, an implant is great. But so we’re injections. Refusing to give them a try smacks of immaturity. Yes, it’s ok to be 18. But at 18 you lack a bit of wisdom some of us have acquired fighting ED for a lot longer than you’ve been alive.
You make some valid points, but i think the situation can be totally different for an 18 year old with a different lifestyle. You say in your signature you are "very married". I can say for myself, i am 41 years now, and i spent the last 10 years of my life traveling around the world, being single, with a nomadic lifestyle and all my life is in my suitcase. I cannot imagine at all, how could i have done this if i had to carry injectables in my suitcase. How do i refrigerate them? How do i get new prescriptions in every new country? How do i even go on a date with a random tinder girl if i am 18 years old? Should i carry the injection in my pocket and then excuse myself to the bathroom when the moment comes? The logistics of injections for someone who is single and nomadic can be much more complicated than someone who is married and settled down in one place. For me personally, i carried pills with me everywhere in the world and even in my wallet constantly during the last 10 years (in case needed), until they finally stopped working. I decided to go straight to the implant as the injection logistics seemed to be a huge downgrade in my lifestyle even if they would work (which i havent tried).
Things to consider for an 18 year old who has all his life ahead of him and may want to be free to travel around the world and have sex with as many girls as he wants in any country he wants.
