I’m sympathetic to your issues. I suffered from ED at your age but wasn’t aware anything was wrong. When the only erectile you have any experience with you is your own, it becomes the norm.

I was diagnosed at 29. There were no pills back then.

I’m notorious for saying what I think, so I’ll do it again. I believe if you try to proceed directly to an implant at your age without giving injections a good faith try you are a damned fool.

Let’s put this into a medical analogy. Let’s say you have a skin cancer-a basal cell carcinoma. The treatment of choice is to remove the tumor and stitch up the hole that was left. You don’t rush to bombard patient with radiation and chemotherapy unless it becomes necessary.

Popping your dick with an insulin needle and a few droplets of trimix isn’t a big deal. I should know. I did it for 32 years.

You weren’t even alive in 1987 but the implants available would have left me permanently tied to about a 5x4 inch dick and a malleable implant. Better than no sex but hey, I’m male, and I enjoy having a somewhat larger cock.

Injections made me longer, thicker, gave me very reliable sex for nearly 30 years. Only in the last few years of taking shots did the medication become less effective. If I wanted to Jack off I didn’t need a shot, I’d just use a cock ring and if I list my erection temporarily it’s not like I was disappointing some girl or that I needed to be fully rigid.

My biggest fear about implanting an 18 year old would be you aren’t done growing yet. The first implant truly was a piece of cake. Zero complications, like a hernia repair or vasectomy (well except for a bruised dick & nutsack). But each subsequent revision brings with it a new and increasing risk of infection. Bacterial colonies do set up on implants, antibiotic coating notwithstanding…and a replacement is down the road. It might last 15-25 years but eventually it’s gonna fail.

And one other thing…..if you’re headed to Texas to talk to Clavell you might put Bryan Kansas on your list. Unless you’re Jonah Falcon and have to have a Titan (Kansas is an AMS guy) he’s really good, his staff is even better, and he offers among the lowest self pay packages out there. When this 18+5 LGX quits my plan is for him to put in a 21+4 CX or special order me a 24 cm CX plus RTEs by the end of the day.

Yeah, an implant is great. But so we’re injections. Refusing to give them a try smacks of immaturity. Yes, it’s ok to be 18. But at 18 you lack a bit of wisdom some of us have acquired fighting ED for a lot longer than you’ve been alive.

You make some valid points, but i think the situation can be totally different for an 18 year old with a different lifestyle. You say in your signature you are "very married". I can say for myself, i am 41 years now, and i spent the last 10 years of my life traveling around the world, being single, with a nomadic lifestyle and all my life is in my suitcase. I cannot imagine at all, how could i have done this if i had to carry injectables in my suitcase. How do i refrigerate them? How do i get new prescriptions in every new country? How do i even go on a date with a random tinder girl if i am 18 years old? Should i carry the injection in my pocket and then excuse myself to the bathroom when the moment comes? The logistics of injections for someone who is single and nomadic can be much more complicated than someone who is married and settled down in one place. For me personally, i carried pills with me everywhere in the world and even in my wallet constantly during the last 10 years (in case needed), until they finally stopped working. I decided to go straight to the implant as the injection logistics seemed to be a huge downgrade in my lifestyle even if they would work (which i havent tried).

Things to consider for an 18 year old who has all his life ahead of him and may want to be free to travel around the world and have sex with as many girls as he wants in any country he wants.
Implanted October 11, 2024, Dr Karaman. Infla10 AX 20cm +1cm RTE.

I also tried the VED which sucked blood into my penis but it didn't work with cock rings (not that I care because I wasn't about to use an awkward ass cock ring and VED for sex) but my use of the VED is only because I haven't been able to see any implant specialist about an implant because I am well, was, a "pediatric" case and couldn't get anyone to seriously consider giving me an implant but now that I've recently turned 18 my journey can finally begin.

Now my mindset is simply stop at nothing to defeat ED. I have no interest in trying injections, hell I never even wanted to try Viagra or Levitra or use this stupid VED. From the beginning it was daily Cialis or implant for me. I don't want any worthless "treatment" that necessitates me take a stupid headache pill on an empty stomach just so that I could maybe jerk off an hour later and I sure as hell didn't want to put a needle in my penis. Now had the daily cialis worked I probably would have stuck with that because that would have made me feel normal but the fact is it didn't and the other "solutions" (not that I see them as solutions) require planning and have side effects and as an 18 year old I deserve better than that.

I don't want a temporary solution I want a reliable, spontaneous, and almost supernatural solution that the implant provides. In Dr Hakky's webinar for example he says the implant has a 1000psi which is more than a natural erection so going from ED to an unnaturally hard erection sounds super empowering to me. I don't like the other "options" because the fact is they don't eradicate ED the way an implant does so to me it feels like I would be settling for an inferior solution and be a fool for allowing my ED to continue existing. I don't care one bit about the fact that its not a "natural" erection with saline filled cylinders providing rigidity to my penis instead of blood filled corporas because the fact is my corporal bodies already decided to give up I find it reasonable that they should be destroyed and replaced for their decision to keep my penis flaccid. Also, not only does the implant give you spontaneous erections back (in the sense you can have them when you want) but it also lets you stay hard as long as you want and get harder than ever before. For me I'm looking to throw both middle fingers to whatever genetic mutation gave me ED at 14 in the first place and punish my penis for having the audacity to be soft. Going from ED to a dick comparable to a battering ram would undoubtedly put the ED in its place and be my way of saying to the ED you don't mean shit, I'm in control and I say how hard I am for as long as I want and there isn't a goddamn thing you can do about it.

Now the three main doctors im looking at are Doctor Marah Hehemann in Seattle because she’s close (im in college in Vancouver) and not of that stupid exhaust all other options mindset, Dr Clavell, and Dr Hakky because they’re fantastic surgeons with low out of pocket costs which is something I need to consider because at my age insurance is gonna do everything they can not to pay for it and while my family can likely pay for an implant from just about anyone it wouldn’t make sense to pay more when these guys have low out of pocket costs and top-notch surgical ability

I am going to discuss with my dad in the coming days how we’re going to move forward and how were going to work to absolutely obliterate my ED and create a world in which it no longer exists. Again I will stop at absolutely nothing to absolutely annihilate my ED and put my penis in its place for failing me. I have no fear, hesitation, or doubt I’m making the right call. I do not fear the prospect of not being able to “go back” (to soft ass short lived “erections”) once the implants in place and I view ED as a monster who’s only purpose Is to be slaughtered. Nothing short of god himself coming down from the heavens and ripping my penis clean off my body will stop me from getting this goddamn implant.

my advice to you as a 22 year old. dont do implant ur young. u most likely suffer from anxiety ed.

Ezz….. tough situation for an 18 year old!! Everything you stated shows that you’re not able to get an erection so at this point it’s a no brainer to go with implant. Again hard to wrap my mind around at 18 years of age but facts are facts. As others said it. Old be worth trying injections, they are not that bad once you master the techniques and the quantity you can use, but also as others said not convenient for dating or spontaneity. It could help stretch things out though as when I used them it gave me a rock hard throbbing sometimes even painful as it was trying to stretch everything out!! Good luck with your pursuit of beating ED!!
59 years old ED started mid 40s pills failed after 10 years. Injections works but diminishing results with pain. Implanted 5-22 Baylor,Scott, and White Dallas.Dr Michael Wierschem, infrapubic Coloplast 20cm and 1cm RTE. Going strong and loving it!

I agree with those who say it is a permanent decision and you need to live with the outcome even if it's negative or disappointing. My advice is to be sure and only consider an implant after exhausting all other options. I am 61 and have been very happy with my implant for a year and a half. If you decide to proceed with the implant I would highly recommend Dr Clavel in houston. He did a excellent job on me.

Absolutely positively no way in hell is what im dealing with even possibly psychogenic. I don't know your situation and yeah very often in young guys it can be psychogenic but if you could swap penises with me for 1 day you would realize very quickly that something organic is indeed going on here and I am not even willing to consider this possibility for a second because the fact is I haven't had an erection at all in 6 months and before that I couldn't maintain them for the last 4 years so I am not entertaining the thought of psychogenic ED for a fraction of a second. I even told my first urologist he was batshit crazy for believing that (although this guy was without a doubt the most brain dead worthless piece of shit I have ever had the displeasure of speaking to and that's putting it gently) and he continued to gaslight me and outright said organic ED couldn't happen in young men and I was like dude how the hell are you a doctor (I didn't say this but that's what I was thinking) and moved on from him because fuck that guy. Sorry if that came off overly pissed off but there is absolutely no way it could be an anxiety issue.

If pills and cockring work for you, I would use them together until they dont work. Some ft members have to use pills and cockring after implant to have sex. Some have to you the ved after implant to get blood there.

That stuff didn't work for me. Also see comment about me not being afraid of not being able to "go back".

Hey Man, first of all i must say i appreciate you for "stopping at nothing to defeat ED", i have seen other teenagers in forums or in reddit talking they want to kill themselves before even trying the implant. So i really appreciate that you have this positive attitude.

I don't blame you for not trying injections. I also skipped them (even if pills worked 50% for me). You are 18 years old so really starting putting needles in your penis for so many years i feel its not a great idea long term, also if you are single must be difficult to carry your injections with you every time you want to have sex with a new girl (while the pills at least you can put them in your pocket).

One thing to know: An implant is not an instant solution. There is a lot of pain involved in recovery, it is a long recovery a lot of things that can go wrong, so you need to know you are taking a risk. If you are mentally ready to go through that pain and take that risk, then go for it.

I am 2 weeks post op and i can tell you it is not easy, but i am hoping that things are bright at the end of the road.

Thanks. I used to use the reddit ed forum but got pissed off at how many pessimistic losers there were on there who said stuff like it made them feel like a failure as a man or I'd rather be impotent forever or kill myself than get an implant. I didn't want to surround myself with pathetic people like that on my journey so I'm glad I found frank talk because it's a way better community where people don't bitch and moan but rather actually take action and do something about their ED. I wish you all the best in your recovery and appreciate you taking the time to respond to this post.

free test? shbg? progesterone? e2?

if ur urolgist was shit as you say, maybe he did not check every contriuting parameter. you saw my previous answer, i am all for implant mostly, but i would highly recomend finding the source of your ED first, because that is the thing, you never mention here. starting point would be a COMPLETE hormone panel. After that, check for local reasons in your actual penis and surrounding veins. If you read posts and journals and signitures here, all of the guys have a reason, why they developed ED. at least most of them. what is your source of ED and if you dont know, why dont you try to figure that out first?
