My surgery is 2 days away. Holy crap I'm doing this.

Surgery is on the 4th. It is the AMS700 and will be infrapubic.

Anxiety is definitely here but that's to be expected, right? When I feel nervous, I just remember the many times I've failed during sexual encounters. 15 years of disappointing erections and awkward silences after trying to initiate. I have had good sex before so I know what it's like and I know what I'm missing out on. ED is the absolute worst but I'm finally doing what's best for myself as a human being. Tired of taking all the different pills and trying to get all the variables right (empty stomach, no alcohol, etc.) and even then sometimes the cocktail of pills would not work. I've told myself though that in some way it's a blessing that the pills stopped working so I can knock this procedure out now rather than later.

What gives me the most anxiety is when I open my eyes for the first time after the procedure. What will it feel like? It seems like from reading these forums the experiences vary WIDELY from very little pain to a ton of pain. I'm on the younger side (early 30s) so hoping my body will be on the faster and less painful side. My doctor from what I can see is definitely well-renowned and is high volume so that gives me more confidence as well. Additionally, it seems like something I hear consistently is guys saying they wish they did this earlier.

I asked for 2 sick days. One for the surgery day and one for the day after. I also told my manager to expect at least 1 week work from home after the procedure. I'm restless by nature and hate being stuck at home and not working so really hoping I can get back to work ASAP. Believe it or not but I actually enjoy going to the office. My job is flexible though so I'm not too concerned about any performance reprimands or anything like that.

I'm doing this all solo. Uber'ing to the hospital the morning of the surgery and using a non-emergency medical transportation for the ride back home. Kinda wish I had someone for emotional support but for various reasons don't want to drag anyone into it. No one knows but me. Well I have you guys, ha!

So far I have bought a pack of toddler socks (I feel like such a pedo everytime I say or think these words) and a 3 pack of jock straps from amazon. Should I buy ice packs? Is it possible my doctor will provide? Will update this thread post-op. Wish me luck! :D

First, congrats on going through with it!!!

Second - BUY ICE PACKS!!! I used mine for the first three days or so - every hour to an hour and a half to change out - even through the night (my husband helped). I was an outlier with lots of pain. However, I think "two days off" is VERY optimistic. I would have gone for at LEAST a week if not more. Only reason I only took a week from work was I did it during the holidays and we were uncommonly slow. I spent the most of that week in bed, sleeping, reading, or watching TV (say three days SOLID with a 1/2 day sitting up at my computer). After three days and no narcotic pain meds it hurt to sit or move or concentrate a lot. I was STILL taking max tylenol AND max Ibupropherin.

Not to scare you, but to prepare you, it will feel VERY different having an implant - for a bit. It'll take time for your body to adjust. I think on day 5 or 6 I had some reason WTF moments, but just realized it was over, nothing I could do, press on. Here I am - 8 weeks out from surgery and doing pretty good. Even had sex twice though it was a bit painful yet for me. Felt AWESOME to be able to penetrate without worrying about whether I was hard or not. Worrying about whether it was going to hurt was another matter. But that will get better with time.

Thing I would get:

Books
Movies on your tablet / phone
Foam / Firm pillow to put between your legs
Donut seat pillow (memory foam) - TRUST me - this is a life saver. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0D3L ... =UTF8&th=1

I wish you the best of luck on your journey - and asking questions helps - so don't be afraid - we don't bite here! :D

Congrats on moving forward on this issue. It is a tough decision, especially at your age.
Many suggest ice packs for the few days after surgery to keep swelling down. Bags of frozen peas work well. The baby socks might be needed, maybe not. Cut the elastic part off if you use them. They will help if you get real sensitive after, especially when wearing pants. I threw away the jock strap they sent me home in, never used one after that.
When you wake up after the procedure you'll still be numb from the drugs, but you will know something happened down there.
Hopefully you'll heal up fast since you are pretty young. Doing this by yourself is going to be tough, good luck.

Twelve, totally understand the anxiety because there is no turning back, but you will be fine and get through this. I can tell that you have been studying from the FrankTalk manual, so you will be ready and we are also here to help.
I used gel ice packs because they are more flexible and I could put one over my swollen scrotum and one would be in the freezer. I've heard guys use frozen peas but I wanted something that I could just keep switching out.
You're right about lots of variations on guys recover, for me I had more pain and I had to use the stronger pain meds to keep the pain to something I could deal with.
Wishing you luck Twelve,
SWorks

P.S. which AMS are you getting the CX or LGX?

First of all.....BE POSITIVE.

This will be easier than you might expect. I prepared for the worse.....mainly because of my anxiety and nervousness. It's very hard to relax when you know Mr. Winkie is about to be cut and operated on. Fortunately, I had two great URO's. The only concern I had was the pump ball was very stiff to pump. My ball sack just wasn't use to pumping a third nut in there. It was easy pesy, once I learned how to properly pump. Good luck..... Time will fly by.

I actually don't even know whether I'm getting the CX or LGX. Is that bad?

It’s probably not bad, they both work great. My doc told me from the start that the CX was his go to implant because of its stiffness and I was supposed to have got that implant but the doc and the Boston Scientefic rep made a game time decision to use the LGX.
My internal measurements were 21cm and they usually use a CX when you’re 21cm and over.
The only thing that I could think of was the ability to place the pump correctly, so I got a 18cm with 3cm rear tip extenders.
It works great and I’m happy with it.
You might want to ask and see what they are planning to do.

Good Luck,
SWorks

I am confident you will be happy you did it. I'm a generally confident and decisive guy but my surgery had me wavering like an indecisive baby for weeks leading up to it. I did it and can tell you it's the BEST decision and would do it again 1000 times over. I was lucky and had very little pain but I'd sign up for weeks of pain to be able to have the confidence, freedom and amazing sex that I'm having now. I'm pleasing my partners in ways I haven't been able to in years and years. The confidence you feel when you're able to really please them is beyond words. I've heard that your dating profile is marketing, the date is the sales pitch and great sex is customer retention. We're not losing customers anymore!

Best of luck, and keep us posted.

I just had my surgery - AMS 700 CX, MS pump - last wednesday 1/29. During surgery the surgeon will inject your groin with a nerve block that's good for about two days.

After that, you'll probably have swelling in your scrotum and your penis may look like it's shriveled and all beat up. Not to worry it all gets better with time. If you're like me, your groin will be sore for a couple weeks, but being young you may heal faster. Follow your surgeon's post op instructions carefully, and check in here with your implant brothers for advice and support.

I bought a donut memory foam pillow to sit on, and a memory foam sleeping block to strap between my thighs when in bed since I'm a side sleeper. Also a big fan of the pedo baby socks to cover the swollen head of my dick.

Let us know what size implant you got when you can. Good luck, you're going to be able to fuck like a stallion in no time.
GM(73) ED for past 10 years. Before: 6.0"L, 5.5"G. After (30 days): 5.5"L, 5.25"G. AMS CX MS pump 18cm/17.5cm on 1/29/25 by Dr Clavell in Houston.
